Nice, wanted to see if you guys came along the same thing I did. I also just found out that the app CleanMyMac cleans out to much from SABNZB. Indeed they have some nerve screwing up so much and even after complaints about widely used apps like Adobe CS5 they just make up a Q and A with a silly solu...

I have this same problem running Mac OSX 10.6.4. I have tried to remove ~/Library/Application Support/SABnzbd but no luck. The icon in the menu bar does not return, this does removes all settings and when the app is started the setup wizard is shown. I can't tell what could cause this, it was workin...
