Re: Synology DSM 7.1: Permissions broken as of 3.6.0?
Every update of the SynoCommunity package, permissions-settings will be emptied again. This is done on purpose (not by SABnzbd, but by SynoCommunity package!) because like I said before, the Linux permissions of SABnzbd break the ACL permissions of Synology. For example: if SABnzbd applies it's Lin...

Re: Synology DSM 7.1: Permissions broken as of 3.6.0?
We haven't hard-coded anything. This is what is done by DSM. I found a (heretofore) blank setting in config, ini, to set final permissions on the 'complete' folder, I set those to 777. That seems to do it. Albeit ugly. And shouldn't be necessary. But with half my downloads now getting rw only for th...

Re: Synology DSM 7.1: Permissions broken as of 3.6.0?
We haven't hard-coded anything. This is what is done by DSM. You can enable Debug logging in the Status window and then check the logs after it happens again, it will show exactly which permissions were applied by SABnzbd. The rest is all done by DSM/filesystem. I appreciate your help But it's all ...

Re: Synology DSM 7.1: Permissions broken as of 3.6.0?
Thx for your reply. Had done all these things already (was working fine up to 3.5), but something seems broken. Look at the example above (in the downloads folder): drwxrwxrwx+ 1 sc-sabnzbd synocommunity 138 Jun 20 15:07 604bc5892df75836e84cbe17 drwx------ 1 sc-sabnzbd synocommunity 384 Jun 20 15:10...

Synology DSM 7.1: Permissions broken as of 3.6.0?
SABNZBD broke on my DSM 7.1 NAS, as of 3.6.0. All files are now set for: sc-sabnzbd synocommunity With only rw permissions. Allegedly for security reasons. Have to say I'm pretty annpyed by this. Has it ever occured to anyone, that people want to make the downloads/ folder a SMB share, so data can b...

Re: Untrusted certificate [Eweka, newshosting, Let's encrypt R3]
What about under Synology DSM? There are no cert listed there (only synology certificate itself). Did you see alfred_j_quack's post? "Ugrading to the latest DSM on Synology, reloading the SAB packages from community fixed the issue for me" I saw it, but 6.2.3-25426 is the highest DSM I ca...

Re: "Untrusted certificate" - Just wait or what to do?
Problems with newshosting.com have resumed. As of today, their cert is invalid. They give you some BS about upgrading your OS (DSM 6.2.3-25423.)
Anyone else have this issue again? And no, using news.ams.newshosting.com didn't make a difference this time.

Re: Sabnzbd not using article caching
We now write to disk to the final file in blocks of ~10MB as soon as the data is received, this is actually an improvement ;) Before we would for example cache a whole 100MB file in memory before writing, causing huge write-spikes and memory blocks. Good! :) Yeah, SAB could consume up to 50% of my ...

Re: SABNZB 3.2.1-48 on Synology not downloading: crashed downloader
I think sabnzbd, at some point, changed how it's run under which user in UNIX. No, SABnzbd did not. SAB is running on all kinds unixes (Linux, MacOS), and no problem Maybe Synology did change something, but not SAB. And SAB 3.2.1 is running correctly on a lot of Synologies, so not a generic problem...

Re: SABNZB 3.2.1-48 on Synology not downloading
i switched to glitter and saw an error "a few seconds ago Cannot change permissions of /volume1/Downloads/incomplete" That is your problem: no writing access to that directory. Solve that. Or choose another directory that works. I can't help you with that; not a SABnzbd problem, and I don...

Sabnzbd not using article caching
Using sabnzbd 3.2.1 on Synlogy, I noticed article cache is no longer being used. I had set it to -1, 1G-4G, etc, but the status buttton says only ca 12MB of cached articles is being used. And sabnzbd has a correspondingly small memory footprint in DSM (used to be much higher). And yes, I saved chang...

Signal 6
Hmm, when I restarted my xp machine, SABNzbd hadn't started. Upon checking the log, it appeared the process had caught 'signal 6'. That's a SIGABRT, and indeed SABnzbd hadn't started (it's running as a service). Upon reboot it worked again.
Any idea what could be causing this?

What are the default category names?
I don't fully 'get' the user defined categories yet. For example, when examining the history, a file appeared to be marked as in the 'music' category. So, I added a 'music' category rule, and, indeed, it downloaded neatly to the 'music' folder. Question just is, how do I determine what all the 'base...

Re: "Add NZB to SABnzbd queue" doet niets
Het werkt inmiddels. :) je moet kennelijk als lokatie voor SABNzbd (binnen spotweb) niet de hele URL meegeven; dus NIET:
http://127.0.0.1:8080/sabnzbd/
Maar gewoon:
http://127.0.0.1:8080/
