Returning User / Memories of Usenet

Hey everyone, I started using SabNZBD back when it was first out (I'm guessing 2007?). I remember NINAN being another one that was pretty cool at the inception of NZB files but Sab blew it away. Prior to that I'd been using Newsreactor between 2002-2006 to grab threads and download files - a big imp...

Re: NZBMegasearch, opensource NZB search aggregator

Love this application - noticed a bug recently though - it won't pass NZB's to NZBGet. SabNZBD works fine.

Re: Gigabit Router

I had issues with Sab on my HP Microserver, it would only download at a max of around 120mbit. I have a dual connection reaching a maximum of 225mbit. I switched to NZBGet and am getting full speed now without as much CPU usage. So bear that in mind when upgrading routers/switches. I spent a load of...

Re: Typical SABnzbd download speeds

I've got a 120mbit primary, 38mbit secondary. I've setup my router to utilise both connections for downloading Usenet by setting up two servers in Sab, one over port 119 and the other over port 543. In my router I've tunnelled the relevant ports across one WAN interface each. It uses multiple usenet...

Script to Trigger Incremental Scan in Oversight (PopcornHour

Some may find this useful: http://www.networkedmediatank.com/showt ... ?tid=67768

Triggers an incremental scan on completed downloads.

Example Output of %1

How can I get what Sab outputs for the %1 switch? I understand what the output is supposed to be i.e. the path but I want to see the exact output.

Re: Speed Limit in Megabits rather than Kilobytes

How about an option for a speed limit on a per server basis?

The reason: I have two internet connections and I'd like to prevent my main browsing/voip connection from being saturated but I'd like to saturate the other connection.

Re: MovieGrabber - Completely Automated Movie Downloader

The proper sabnzbd API would be preferred for me. I'd like to do some more post processing than what MovieGrabber offers so this would faciltate that. I'd also like to use the automatic priority option of Sab per category and notifications.

Re: MovieGrabber - Completely Automated Movie Downloader

Thanks for the quick response, I'm not sure I understand how to setup the post processing rule. It asks me to input If filename is. The idea is the file name can be anything, it's just any movie? An easier way to do it would be just to tag it in Sab as a Movie and let its powerful renaming options h...

Re: MovieGrabber - Completely Automated Movie Downloader

This is something i've been after for a long time, Couch Potato just hasn't cut it that way. A quick suggestion: rather than a release group boolean, can you just implement "preferred release groups". That way you can specificy P2P groups who are generally better quality to be priortised o...

Per Download Notification

If you could tell Sab to send an email notification out dynamically according to what's in the queue. E.g. you have a check box visible with "notify via email" ticked, you have some rather large downloads that you just can't wait to be extracted so rather than constantly checking on progre...

Extract Priority - Movement

I had a bunch of files download the other day and a few small app files were waiting to be extracted after a large 30gb file. It would have been nice if I could have given an extract priority to the smaller files which I wanted access immediately. Another way of doing it is honouring the download pr...

Re: Speed Limit in Megabits rather than Kilobytes

Wow, even better! Does it dynamically calculate the peak available bandwidth? The reason I ask is because I get traffic shaped by my ISP (Virgin Media) at prime time and my max speed varies. If it was dynamic that would be seriously slick. You could achieve this by letting the downloads spike every ...

Speed Limit in Megabits rather than Kilobytes

With broadband connections ever increasing it would be nice to start to use megabits to limit speed for ease.
