Apparent issue with everyone, especially US servers.

Astra is really turning to crap this past year. Nothing really makes them stand out anymore.

Re: Gigabit Router
Better off investing in a 10/100/1000 Ethernet switch. Cheap, and dedicated to doing nothing but inter-LAN switching, unlike routers which tend to have very flaky switch ports and are even worse if routing traffic on different LAN's, which I'm assuming you're not doing. Either way investing in a nea...

Re: Downloads stopping for no reason
Which operating system are you using? lol, really? Astraweb sucks. There rise to fame was always because they had some Top Tier retention for the cheapest price. A lot has changed in the past 4-5 years ago. Since this post was made on Sunday I'm assuming you're in the Sunday Night Hell Hole. Appare...

Re: Sickbeard + CouchPotato > New Computer
FYI I figured out what settings to backup. In case anyone is wondering. Go to your Sickbeard folder and copy config.ini and sickbeard.db http://i2.minus.com/jPQ9FK46kTy6S.jpg Go to your Couchpotato folder and copy the same config.ini and couchpotato.db http://i6.minus.com/jbjjcuVX2ZLBq9.jpg Cheers! :)

Sickbeard + CouchPotato > New Computer
So, unfortunately it's that time again. We should be happy about building a new PC but alas all the system/program settings are going to be utterly destroyed. One of the things that's been stressing me out the most is having built up a pretty hefty Sickbeard/Couchpotato database and ironing out the ...

Re: Ssl connection
Where you configure a news server in SABNZB (Config>Servers) there should be an option to test to make sure you're able to connect via SSL to the news server (Giganews). Just click the "Show Details" tab in the Config>Servers. Enter the appropriate details given by your news provider if no...

Re: Sick Beard type applications?
The only thing SickBeard is seriously lacking at this point, is the ability to re-add a show and blacklist the release it previously grabbed. CouchPotato does this flawlessly, yet Sickbeard seems incapable of doing this and right now there are a ton of trolls getting past the password filters on New...

Re: Stay Away From Astraweb - Bad Company
That's the least of concern, although still one no doubt. Apparently there has been a huge uproar on r/usenet about Astraweb storing passwords in plaintext, no hashing, no salting, no encryption, NOTHING! Sad that a once great Usenet Provider has steadily gone downhill in the past 2 years. Between s...

From what it sounds like it's more of a hack job of a Newznab back-end. Pretty much everything it does breaks compatibility with third-party utilities because of the way the owner did things.

You don't have any quotas set do you? Did you change the permissions to read/write on the drive/folder that downloads are going to?

Re: [PROJECT] nzbx.ws - usenet news/newsgroup reader engine
Interesting site, but I'm not quite sure what it's supposed to or trying to do either. Kind of reminds me of manual Usenet w/o downloading headers.

Re: Recovering from DMCA errors?
Besides relying on fill servers (which eventually they will all get DMCA'd, just a matter of time), I don't think there is really a way to recover from DMCA'd files. They are physically removed from the server. What you're seeing is somewhat of a shadow copy of what once existed, but where it points...

Re: Is it just me or since NZBMATRIX went down..
Well, that depends on what sites you're using. Unless you're using NZB.su, DogNZB, or NZB's(dot)org, most other newznab sites are way too young and immature at this point to have figured it all out. I've seen no slowdown like you're talking about, but then again I don't see much of a point in having...
