Supernews is working for me with an 8 character password containing special characters, numbers and letters of different cases.

Have things changed for your connection issues with Supernews with respect to this authentication problem?

To build on bit0xr's post. I have the same problem as discussed. I have remedied the solution (defined as using all 30 Supernews connections with SSL ) by doing the following. Changing password to lower case upper case digit digit ... etc and I've used a total of 7 characters.  Special characters su...

+1 on the error.  Using Supernews.

I can only use a maximum of 3 connections.  4 will induce the error.
