I suspect it's in the differences on how things are done on MacOS X vs Linux. On MacOS X I don't have a hidden directory in my home space (~/.sabnzbd), everything is stored in "~/Library/Application Support/SABnzbd". So there may be other, subtle, differences in how things are accomplished...
