Re: "Newzbin is back" anyone else get this email?
I have been watching all the Newzbin2 discussions with interest. But it is as if the whole world got hit with the naive stick. Newzbin had a whole heap of servers and a complex bespoke setup. Anyone that thinks that these people got the Site + dbase + user list + domain and are not newzbin themselve...

Re: Sick Beard (ALPHA) - Download/sort/rename episodes, XBMC/growl integration, more
Just turn off metadata creation. Yeah that makes obvious sense however the default for this setting is "on" and it is very easy with the "Add all shows in a root directory" feature to completely overwrite every text based nfo you have. How about "use existing nfo" opti...

Re: Sick Beard (ALPHA) - Download/sort/rename episodes, XBMC/growl integration, more
Sickbeard overwrites plain text URL NFOS with XML ones. :( I can understand why people like XML nfos but i never want them. I use the text nfo which only has the show URL and let XBMC do the rest. This way when i refresh a show with XBMC it updates with all the new information and not with static i...

Re: Sick Beard (ALPHA) - Download/sort/rename episodes, XBMC/growl integration, more
Thanks for the reply. Its probably worth adding that the only dependency is Cheetah on the project page for clarity. Just as a point of reference Sab is running on my production Debian stable box this now with: Package python * lenny (stable) (python): An interactive high-level object-oriented la...

Re: Sick Beard (ALPHA) - Download/sort/rename episodes, XBMC/growl integration, more
I've tested SickBeard on windows via VMware and I think it shows real potential as a replacement for my current HellaVCR setup. However there are obviously some dependency issues with Debian. What are the minimum required version numbers of: * cherrypy * Cheetah * BeautifulSoup * tvdb_api * python-i...

Re: A new type of sample file being missed
Sorry i should have spotted that myself.
Obviously that makes it a bit trickier to make totally reliable.

A new type of sample file being missed
OK so this isnt really new but its becoming more prevalent.
Sample files named like :
show.s01e01.ws.dvdrip.xvid-group.1.avi
paired with the actual avi of:
show.s01e01.ws.dvdrip.xvid-group.avi
Can i request that sample detection catch this pairing.

Because logs are important. If they weren't there would be no reason to log in the first place

Log file names
I am making the assumption that the sab log files that are named .1, .2 through to .5 work as follows: If we have 5 log backup files already and sab needs to add a new one it deletes the oldest one, renames the other 4 and adds the new one. For programs like rsync this is problematic as even though ...

Re: RAR > PAR > RAR first
I will indeed wait and see but speaking theoretically it will still do the calculations that i don't need it to do regardless how well on the fly works. FYI i have downloaded 9 more 350MB NZB since i posted and all 9 did not need repair. From what i can see 1 set of files out of the last 114 sets ha...

Re: RAR > PAR > RAR first
I would like to restart the debate on the original idea. Looking at my history my last 98 par2 checks passed. Most of these checks are for 350MB or greater data sets. So whilst I understand that many users always want to par2 check for me the majority of the time it simply is not required, a direct ...

Re: Dont par2 repair on missing sfv option
Let me see if i can clarify with different wording. Specifically I am not talking about sfv verification. In this scenario consider the sfv file just data. I am seeing an increasing number of NZB files that contain no reference to an sfv file (sfv as data only remember). So in a typical original ra...
