Re: Free Newsservers
There's been some speculation that that server may be up to no good and using user traffic to obfuscate evil doings. I don't know whether that's credible or not, but it was enough for me to not try it out. (It was originally posted on reddit) A note for Windows teredo/ipv6 users, I reinstalled to ne...

Re: set priority of Backup Server
This made my day!!!shypike wrote:It was high time 0.7.18 went out.
Adding this would have meant more delay.
It will be added though, at least in 0.8.0

Re: _UNPACK_ directories not being removed after 0.7.17 upgr
This would happen to me rarely before 7.17 but now it's happening a really high amount.

Re: Free Newsservers
Just wanted to make a note that I had to change teredo servers under windows 7 today, made the difference between working and not working.
I don't know whether microsoft teredo was broken, taken down, or port blocked or something else, but switching off of it fixed it for me.

Re: New Server Priorities
Hi Shypike I remember at some point when this was adopted you said implementation time would test the patience of those waiting :) I checked the roadmap today and see that most other features are implemented, but not this one. I hope you might take pity on some of us and give us a hint whether this ...

Categorize based on file type/extension?
Hi
I get NZB's from certain sites that don't categorize. Lucky for my use case, I could effectively use categorizing based on the presence of certain file types.
I don't think this is possible from what I've seen, but I figured I'd ask rather than assume.
thanks for any input

In fairness, sites have made changes based on sabnzbd requests before.

Recovering from DMCA errors?
Hey guys Is there a way to recover from DMCA errors, assuming that you've got good hosts and fill hosts, but still can't get all you need? What I'm wondering is, it seems like sending out new PAR's would help this issue. Is there some standard or naming convention for doing this? In practice, does i...

Re: Running on RaspberryPi
actually I've got it all running (almost) smoothly, but I've spent the last 5 hours reading different posts and starting again. (sab, SB, CP) I wanted the latest version, otherwise I could have just kept the 0.6.x that came easily. In the end it was another post of yours and jcfp's that did the tric...

Re: Running on RaspberryPi
Short version of how I did it: Use this to add unofficial repositories: http://blog.anantshri.info/howto-add-ppa-in-debian/ then use this to add the sabnzbd repo: http://wiki.sabnzbd.org/install-ubuntu-repo I'm not really quite sure of the implications of adding additional repositories, and it is a...

Re: How to manually test usenet credentials?
Thanks sander you are a life saver. I can't connect at all using Putty to telnet to port 119 (it just disconnects immediately) so at least that gives me a starting point. I didn't realize that was or wasn't normal behaviour. That'll give me enough to hand off to their (unhelpful) support. EDIT: Alth...

How to manually test usenet credentials?
Hey guys Sorry this isn't directly an sabnzbd question. I have this silly 1 connection free account from gibinews, and when entering it into sabnzbd it always gives me a timeout error. I can ping their host, though. Whatever I try in sabnzbd doesn't seem to work. What I wanted to try next was to man...

Re: Free Newsservers
I would absolutely allow sab to anonymously share server statistics like that. Thanks for the explanation. I was hoping I could do something like compare article #'s either between the same server, (total #) or between servers (last vs last?) and get an idea but maybe that was just a pipe dream. Any...

Re: Free Newsservers
I would love it if sabnzbd would report retention too Its the status logon I'm wondering about - for example, right now, the first entry is:
(Looks good) 211 25000000 5184689169 5209689169 alt.binaries.boneless
211 is obviously a status. what are the next 3 long numbers?
