Hi,
I wanted to disable the startup/shutdown notifications for Notification Center, unchecked the option, hit save, restarted sab.
Notifications still showed up. Went back to the config page, the option was still checked. Unchecked it again, hit save and reloaded the page, back to being checked.
Something is definitely buggy in that section.
Also this might help, from the debug log:
2015-05-11 23:20:37,562::DEBUG::[config:640] Missing configuration item ncenter,ncenter_prio_Other Messages
2015-05-11 23:20:37,774::DEBUG::[growler:118] Incorrect Notify option ncenter:ncenter_prio_Other Messages

Interesting, I'll investigate.
Re: Difficulty saving notification options in 0.8a1
Just a quick update, Initial issue was on OSX, however just tested it on Windows with the growl options, same issue.
If I check all the growl notification options and hit save, they all become sticky, as in I can't ever uncheck them without shutting down sab and editing the ini directly.

Re: Difficulty saving notification options in 0.8a1
The options of Notification Center, NotifyOSD and Growl had the wrong type.
Fixed now for Alpha2.
I cannot reproduce the logging messages, but maybe those are just side effects.
