sabnzbd loses settings after Upgrade from 0.72 to 1.0.0

Hi,

I have found that sabnzbd loses every setting I ever made when updating from 0.72 to 1.0.0 on my Windows home server, even my ini and ini.bak file are the same, both with no valuable content. Is there another copy stored anywhere? How do I get my config back? Really annoying Never had that problem with previous updates...

Not a known problem.
Hard to tell what went wrong.
This can happen if the hard disk if full, but you would have noticed that before.

I assume this might be because I installed sabnzbd twice? I installed it in the first place, but I interpreted the message that in the first run, it would uninstall the old version. After that, I reinstalled without starting before, maybe that is a problem? Nevertheless, it is disappointing that it does not keep a backup of the old configs

Multiple installs are OK.
However, if you do an un-install, there is an option to remove SABnzbd settings.
By default this is off, but if on, it will delete your INI file.

I'm having the same problem. Currently using 0.7.20 and I'm forced to go through the wizard after upgrade which I'm assuming means it isn't seeing my existing config. This is on Windows XP. Thought it was because I didn't use the installer originally but just the binary download. So I went back to 0.7.20 and reinstalled it using the installer. Config was intact. Then tried the 1.0.0 installer and still get sent to the wizard.

We've tested this quite extensively.
But on Windows there are apparently just too many situations.
No backup available?

I have my old config file. Copying it over the new one will cause problems, no?

No that will fix it, just copy it when sabnzbd is shutdown and after starting again verify the folder settings.
