Hi,
I have two requests and was wondering if either or both would be possible to do. I did a quick forum search and couldn't find anything relating to either. I apologise if it has already bee requested.
Firstly; Is it possible to have sab show the speed of connection for each individual thread connecting to a server... or at least have it show the speed connected to a particular server. As in, if more than 1 server was being used to download something, have it show the speed at which you are connecting to each server.
Secondly; This request may be a little bit trickier. Is it possible to have sab switch to a backup server when the connection to the main server or servers drops below a certain speed for more than a 1 minute thus using the backup server while your main server could be experiencing speed / routing issues.
Anyways, thanks for what is already the best / most important / first program installed after a format / piece of software.
Regards,

Thread Speed & Backup Server
Re: Thread Speed & Backup Server
1.
There is no such thing as server speed.
What you is the average rate in bytes per second. In reality SAbnzbd sends
out a request, the server thinks about and sends an article to SAbnzbd.
So it's more an on/off thing.
It would be possible to show an average speed per server, but we think the display is already busy enough.
If you are interested in individual "speed", I can recommend the program "Net Limiter 2 Monitor" (http://www.netlimiter.com/download.php). The monitor version is free.
2.
I think this is too esoteric.
Also, most people prefer their backup server to be used only when absolutely necessary (because they pay-per-MB).
(And we're not going to add a new option )

Re: Thread Speed & Backup Server
Thanks for the reply.
To be honest i didn't think the 2nd option would be feasible, just thought i would throw it out there.
The only reason i thought the 1st request could be done, is because something similar is done in newsleecher where each download "thread / connection" displays a speed at which it is getting an article. This ofcourse would only be displayed in the connections menu.
Either way just thought they extra information might be useful to some people.
Once again thanks for the reply.

Re: Thread Speed & Backup Server
We may do something about the speed-per-server.
If I remember correctly, there has been work on measuring bytes-per-server,
which is the first step.
