unrar 6.11

Post by zoggy »

Just to note here in case we see anything for this, reserved names are now extracted with unrar 6.11 with win11.

https://www.rarlab.com/rarnew.htm

Code: Select all

   3. Reserved device names followed by file extension, such as aux.txt,
are extracted as is in Windows 11 even without "Allow potentially
incompatible names" option or -oni command line switch.
Unlike previous Windows versions, Windows 11 treats such names
      as usual files.

Doesnt look like we do anything with -oni (and looking at the command output i dont see it listed).

They are also extracted by the older versions, that's why we have the special code to clean them up afterwards. Bit strange. Or maybe they removed that in between, because I'm sure I have tested this extensively a few years back.

i know if you do long path notation you can do reserve word files.. maybe they are just using that internally to get around the reserved words with win11. but anyways was just noting in case it comes up. dont really know anyone that uses win11 :x
