Check your connection in Status and Interface settings window.
Use Test Server in Config > Servers.
We will probably ask you to do a test using only basic settings. - Do you experience problems during repair or unpacking?
Enable +Debug logging in the Status and Interface settings window and share the relevant parts of the log here using [ code ] sections.

Soooooo it looks like it is a Windows Defender issue. As per Reddit user
If you're on Windows and downloading RAR files, try adding your SABnzbd Temporary Download Folder to the Defender Antivirus scanning exclusions. This same issue started happening to me a couple days ago after recent Windows updates added native RAR support. It seems to cause the virus scanner to go into overdrive while SABnzbd is downloading RAR files. Adding the exclusion immediately fixed the issue for me.

A typical behavior for these performance drops is also this switch under Switches/Direct Unpack.
Turn it off and repeat the download. With many single SSDs, this can lead to noticeable performance drops.
This does not normally happen with a RAID 5/6 Volume.

Just added the folder to the exclusions and bingo, solved the problem immediately!
Must have been a recent Defender update. ****** Microsoft - I had something similar a few weeks ago when a Defender update suddenly quarantined my Tor.exe file. Should have thought of this.
