Yes Windows Defender is on. The other system runs Avast and both don't have a problem with gigabit.

I'm seeing the same on my Windows 11 machine - it makes it almost unusable (i5-13500, 32GB DDR RAM, running on Crucial P3 Plus NVMe SSD). A separate Windows 10 system functions without these issues. All drivers are up to date. I've done a clean install and will check again today and if the problem persists I'll try disabling AV and report back.

Note that drive uses QLC memory. While cheap, such drives are notoriously bad at sustained writes of large amounts of data (e.g. your typical download from Usenet). They'll start reasonably fast and can keep up appearances for long enough to fool casual benchmarks, but once their limited internal cache of faster memory cells fills up (typically after some 4-8GB) write performance crashes to levels well below that of even ancient conventional hard drives.

Yep, have the same thing with such a drive in my NAS. Super fast begin, then completely freezes the whole system after 1 or 2GB. Have to reduce the speed quite a lot to make things responsive.

Try setting download speed limit to something slow like 5MBs and increase slowly from there.

... but then, with bigger downloads, you must see in SABnzbd's Status "Download speed limited by" ... disk NNNN x, right?

If so: good to know. Because the sab-built-in-diskspeed-test is short & bursty, so will show a high speed.
