Is my SSD just not up to the job? ... UNRAID

I've spent the last month of so setting up an unRAID server and switched across to Usenet (from many many years of Windows and torrents) and so far I'm really impressed and loving it.

I've followed a lot of the TRaSH Guides as they seem to do things right and I've managed to get atomic moves working perfectly which is great.

The problem I have is very unstable download speeds to my SSD. I've taken an image of everything that should help diagnose the issue but as a new user I'm not allowed to post yet. Hopefully after I've made this intial post I can use links and show

Basically everything points to the SSD not being fast enough but it's showing very very low speeds like there's something wrong with it, the model is CT2000BX500SSD1 I've used it as my main OS SSD on windows for the last year or so and it behaved perfectly

In th new system it is only used as a cache drive for my data share so only sabnzbd write to it really and mover then moves the data in an evening, I have 2 x nvme cahce drives that store all my appdata and such so this SSD is purely a temporary drive for sabnzbd until move can put the data on my main array

As soon as I'm allowed I'll upload the image and hopefully someone can help me understand what is going wrong, it seems

Ok so I'm still not allowed link so I'll try explain with words as much as possible:

I have my download speed limited to 60 MB/s which is will comfortably download at which is great but this will flutuate down to almost nothing then spring back up and then back down to nothing it's all over the spot, this is what highlighted to me that there's an issue as most images I've seen of people download speeds they look rock solid stead at their requested download speed

I've run the speed test above earlier and had huge disk speeds compared to what that is showing which was 37079x but the folder speed was still very slow @ just 5.7 MB/s, I've also see download folder speeds of 300+MB/s I'm a bit lost at this point what happeneing! Most of the time when I refresh my folder speeds are anywhere from 20MB/s to 2MB/s!

My mounting folders for SABnzbd are:

Minimum free space: 195.3 GB
Share status: Share contains data
Exclusive access: No
Primary storage (for new files and folders): Cache_ssd
Secondary storage: Array

Mover action: Cache_ssd → Array
Mover transfers files from Primary storage to Secondary storage

I can only assume my awful speeds are something to do with a failing SSD? Or is this a speed limited by fuse? Should I have this setup a different way?

So kept doing repeat test and managed to get a better folder speed see below:

Thanks, reading through though it seems like turning on exclusive requires me to break the secondary drive which would stop mover working?

Is it a case that I can stop the secondary drive, rename all the data folders on the array to get exclusive working then set it all back up with a secondary drive and get mover working again?

Atmoic moves are the most important to me I can love with the fluctuating downloads of I have to but if it's possible to achieve both consistent download speeds and atmoic moves I'll just have to settle for one.

Ok so I made a temporary test share and enabled exclusivity, but as soon as you enable a secondary storage this disables exclusivity.

Is there a way to let Sabnzbd write directly to the SSD cache without suffering from io wait, getting instant atmoic moves but then mover working in the early hours? i.e the best of both worlds but maybe I'm asking too much?

Those are cheap and can keep up appearances for long enough that you won't notice their shortcomings in basic consumer use (operating system / light office work), but as soon as you start writing larger amounts of data (e.g. usenet downloads) performance outright crashes, typically to levels well below that of even ancient conventional hard drives.

Absolutely spot on I've now removed that SSD completely and moved all my downloads to my 2 NVMe drives and I'm seeing 100% stable downloads with atomic moves then mover discreetly in the early hours. It's exactly what I was hoping to achieve.
