"failed to fetch nzb" from binsearch.info

Post by hjbotha »

Hi guys,

First standard info:

Version: 0.4.9
OS: Ubuntu Intrepid (upgraded from Hardy)
Install-type: Ubuntu jcfp repository
Skin (if applicable): Default (changing skin makes no difference)
Firewall Software: Router
Are you using IPV6? sabnzbd is listening on ipv6 but my internet access is ipv4
Is the issue reproducible? yes

I'm having some trouble with RSS on binsearch.

I've only set this up last week, and it was working, but in the last 3 days or so it stopped.

I don't know exactly when it stopped working, but upgrading to Intrepid may have something to do with it.

Basically I have it set up to look at this feed:
http://rss.binsearch.net/rss.php?max=10 ... inaries.tv
And have a list of stuff I want it to match.

This works fine. When I click on Preview for the feed, I get a list of things that have been matched, but they never arrive in my queue.

If I add some arbitrary string for testing purposes and click Force Download, I get an error in History, eg.

Code: Select all

Failed to fetch NZB from http://www.binsearch.info/?action=nzb&removed=1

Stage Download
[URL Fetch]: => Failed, Try again
But if I cd to the directory that I have set up to watch for nzbs, run wget with the above URL (and rename it to .nzb), it picks it up and queues just fine.

The log doesn't tell me much (I've removed any references I thought may be questionable):

Code: Select all

Thanks in advance for any pointers, as I'm not sure where to look.

The cause of the problem is at the binsearch.info side.
Unlike other NZB services, it doesn't send a filename along with the NZB data.

SABnzbd doesn't handle this very well and refuses the NZB file.

As we are on the verge of releasing 0.4.11, we cannot solve this problem for that release.
(The changes in the code would require too much regression testing).

BTW: I'm surprised that you find binsearch.info RSS feeds useful.
Most entries are just parts of jobs, how do you pick the right collections?

Ahh, thanks for clearing that up.

I look for eg. #a.b.mm to make sure I only get stuff once.

I'd just use tvnzb but unfortunately that's one of the sites blocked by my isp because it is againt the moral, cultural or religious views of the United Arab Emirates. :P the search continues!

Thanks again

I emailed binsearch and they sorted it out. :)

I've just signed up to nzbs.org though and that looks promising. And bonus: tv sorting works.

Thanks
