Hi this is my first time setting up a usenet account so if my problem is glaringly obvious then I apologize. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Here is my predicament.
I signed up for Astraweb today. I went to the user details copy and pasted all the server configurations over from Astraweb, tried all four recomended ports, and triple checked my user name and password. For some reason all of the Nzb files I downloaded are just sitting in my queue and not transmitting. I'm not familiar with SABnzb so I'm not sure where to begin to look for where my error is coming from. There are no obvious error messages.
System:OSX Leopard
Browser:Firefox 3.5
Do you have any ideas on how to isolate the problem in Sabnzb or perhaps test my connection in Astraweb?

Are you sure you entered no spaces at the end or beginning of the username and password?\
You should not flag the server as a "backup" server!
SABnzbd is not paused?
There are jobs visible in the queue?

Thanks for the reply
I went back to the settings and re-entered my user name and password, and also verified that the backup server box was not checked.
Data is still not transferring. I have 2 files in the queue one is a couple weeks old, and one is less then a week.
In reading through the other posts I see a reference to pinging the server. How do I go about doing that?

Do you have SSL checked? If so is the server and port you entered SSL friendly?
How many connections do you have set, are there any warnings on the connection page?

Thank you guys for your responses
I did a ping in terminal and got...
PING news.astraweb.com (207.246.207.160): 56 data bytes
64 bytes from 207.246.207.160: icmp_seq=0 ttl=55 time=95.380 ms
64 bytes from 207.246.207.160: icmp_seq=1 ttl=55 time=95.674 ms

64 bytes from 207.246.207.160: icmp_seq=3 ttl=55 time=94.888 ms
64 bytes from 207.246.207.160: icmp_seq=4 ttl=55 time=96.405 ms
this sequence continued on to infinity
I do not have SSL enabled in my prefs, but I have tried the SSL server ports with the same results.
Here is a screengrab of my current configuration
Also here is a screengrab of my account info with astraweb
It seems to be able to ping the server without issue. I turned off my peer guardian software, and I don't have a firewall aside from whatever is preinstalled on the airport extreme. Do I need to do any port forwarding to get it to transmit?

Re: Help a noob. All configurations appear correct but data is not flowing.
Have you tried any of the other server addresses and ports?
Don't know if you are in Europe or the US, you need a different server per continent.
Otherwise try this address:
news.giganews.com 119
or
news-europe.giganews.com 119
You should at least get a error report from these servers.

Re: Help a noob. All configurations appear correct but data is not flowing.
I tried to change to the us.astraweb.com and tried port 119, but still not transmitting.
If I enter in a bogus server then I do get an error message but for some reason it wont transmit with the accepted server

Did you ever figure this out? The exact same thing is happening to me.

Have you tried port 119? I also use astraweb, but I'm on one of their plans that has SSL.
Here's my settings anyway:
secure.news.astraweb.com
port 563
10 connections
ssl enabled
