Best way to create RSS feed?

Hi - Just trying to set up an RSS feed before the new season starts as I will be away for a while. I notice with my feed that some weeks spaces are used in file names and other times not i.e. it could be "How I met your mother" one week and then  "How.I.Met.Your.Mother" the following week! I suppose I could create a rule for both! But My question is what do you guys do? Would "How*I*Met*your*mother" be best practice? Hope some of you can share your RSS setup with me. Thanks in advance.
