NZBIndex feed not working

Post by peteo »

Im trying to get an NZBIndex feed working. the idea is to add the feed and then do a preview so I see the listing and click download on the one I want.
When I add the feed and do preview it does not shown any download links. If i put the rss feed in firefox the links work fine.

Im using SABnzbd 4.12  heres the rss link

http://nzbindex.nl/rss/?q=xvid+2009+-ge ... 250&more=1

That shouldn't be a problem. There is nzbindex specific RSS feed handling to support their format (unless it has changed again very recently). I don't have the time to look into this at the moment, maybe tomorrow.

The next release (0.5.0) will support nzbindex.nl.
You can sign-up as an Alpha tester (we're almost in public  Beta now) in the "Beta Releases" board.

are you guys going to have an Open beta? I really would only link to use Beta, I have an apple TV but I don't want alpha software on it.

If so, you need to have some patience.

BTW: I checked nzbindex.nl with 0.5.0. It works but it produces crap titles.
Probably they did change something. I'll try to clean it up.
Nah, it's our fault. I know what to do now.

Yes, it does  ;D

I just tested with the search string in the first message.
Lots of matches.

Peteo:
You may not know that the automatic scan will ignore the very first batch of NZB's.
This is to prevent everyting from downloading.
Only subsequent scans will actually download NEW entries that match your filters.
The preview should show you lots of lines.
"Force" will download ALL matching jobs, regardless.

Ok, I see. With tvnzb rss feed there are download links in the sabnzbd preview mode. So I guess I'm going to request a new feature. It would be cool if I could have sabnzbd load a nzb rss feed and you could then click on the nzb you want to download and have it added to the Q. This would be great so if you are looking for something new to watch you could view the feed and very easily add it to sabnzbd Q

This is implemented for the next release (0.5.0).
You can sign up as a tester in the Beta Releases board.

I'm running SABnzbd Version: 0.6.10

I'm attempting to access NZBindex.nl via Yahoo Pipes (I use Pipes as my filtering interface because it provides me with some extra features).

Unfortunately SABnzbd will not download because it's using the default / non-NZB link. Does the URL hae to reflect NZBindex in order for SABnzbd to use the alternative link?

If so ... Is there any way for SABnzbd to look for the alternative link without having the URL include NZBindex.nl, so that this will work with Pipes?

Thank you in advance,
RKM

Since every RSS feed uses its own idiosyncratic format, the support is hard-coded.
This means that SABnzbd either can find an NZB link or not.
If not, you're out of luck.
Over time we've added support for popular feeds.
(But bear in mind that any site can change its format overnight.)

If you email sample content from the feed (that would be an XML file) to bugs at sabnzbd.org,
I can have a look at it.

@shypike
I may have miscommunicated, I'll try to explain it better.

The feed I am using, is a 100% match for NZBIndex.nl -- the only difference is that I'm removing most of the rows and passing only rows that relate to content that SABnzbd should download.

However, the feed itself, is the *exact* format (passed through completely) as the original, NZBindex.nl

The pipes.yahoo.com processing engine uses only the "filter" methods, so other than removing some rows, it's the same NZBindex.nl feed. The problem, I think, is that you may be doing this on a URL-bases, rather than searching for that XML tag on all URL's. Is that right? If so, and because so many people do seem to use Pipes.Yahoo to filter RSS feeds (I found out about it from SABnzbd users after all), I wonder if you might look for all special fields (from NZBmatrix/index/etc) in pipes.yahoo feeds?

Thank you in advance!
