In the release notes for 0.5.0, it says:
"SABnzbd now embeds itself in the menubar to give you some basic functions (no more Dock icon)"
It works great in my menu bar, but I still have a dock icon...

Check your connection in Status and Interface settings window.
Use Test Server in Config > Servers.

Maybe you have pinned SABnzbd in your Dock ? If yes remove it.

No, it's not pinned, and I'm 100% sure I have a SABnzbd dock icon, using 0.5.0. See attached screen grab
I tried dragging the icon to the Trash, but it just bounces back to where it was (presumably because the app is running)

As soon as the app quit the dock icon disappears itself. As soon as I open the app again, it reappears in the dock

Very strange to fix this try this in Terminal :
and restart SABnzbd
