Repeatable bug, only occurs with a particular nzb, Mac w/Firefox

Post by Papa B »

Version: 0.5.0 beta 5, also occurred with beta 1
OS: OSX Leopard, 10.5.8
Install-type: OSx .app (from .DMG @ Source Forge)
Skin (if applicable): Smpl
Firewall Software: None
Are you using IPV6? No
Is the issue reproducible? Yes
PowerBook G4, Firefox 3.5.6

NB32 ID: r6jy7 (offending report)

Quick note,
SABnzbd+.app shows "0.5.0Beta5" in "Get Info", "modified" Dec. 24.
Latest "announcements" on homepage is still at Beta 4.

I have a particular nzb from Newzbin that causes SABnzbd+ to restart several times.
I call it a "restart" for lack of a better term.
I get a Growl notification that it's "shutting down" but then get a new Tab in Firefox shortly thereafter.
I only get the "shutting down" notification on the first restart, not on subsequent ones.
I DO get notifications on EACH restart that the nzb has been "added to queue".
When it's all over I will have 5-6 SABnzbd+ tabs, nothing in my queue, nothing new in "complete" folder.
The offending nzb "title" does NOT end up getting listed in my History (seems important).
Incomplete folder will only have one file in it, the .nfo, which is listed in the report.
There is also an nzb listed in the report.

I have SOLVED the problem of getting the download by:
Selecting details in Newzbin
Selecting "all" files then Deselecting the .nfo and .nzb from the list
Creating and using a new report.

Other than the -7 at the end of the folder name, the download appears normal.
It is also now listed in my history.

Thanks,
Papa B

The home page is fixed now (other people reported it too).

I'll have a look at the NZB.
The "restart" you mention is a real restart.
It's probably triggered by a crash of one of the parts of SABnzbd,
likely caused by this specific NZB.

Which language do you use in the UI?

Did you use an RSS feed to read the NZB?

So far I cannot reproduce the problem.
The NZB downloads fine on my Windows box and my Leopard VMWare session.

Could be a G4 specific problem, in that case par2 or unrar would be the suspects.
However, since you say the NFO and NZB file cause the problem.
Neither par2 or unrar use these files.
I'm afraid I have no idea what's going wrong here.

I use English and I'm in the US.
No RSS feeds yet.

I'm too new to be comfortable with either the "check bookmarks" or RSS features of the program.
I just click on the nzb links... either from a search results page or when looking at my own bookmarks within Newzbin.
I get the typical "open with" dialog, click OK, then I get the "downloaded from the internet" warning (click OK again), then it gets opened with SABnzbd...
Pretty routine stuff and it all works quite well, even if I haven't learned to be very efficient yet.
.................

OK, so after at least six "glitches" trying to download this nzb, I try it again and it worked fine.
I only decided to try it again after you mentioned that it worked fine for you.
I've made copies of my "system.log" and "Console Messages.log" for you.
There are quite a few SAB references in them.

Have to go to work.
If you send me some instructions, I'll send those logs to you tonight.

No worries from me.
Just want to help the project.
Thanks
