What happens if you do use 0.5.0 and disable the QuickCheck feature?
In that way par2 will do all verification (like in 0.4.12).

so i was using winrar 3.71 also, upgraded to 3.90 and still get the unpacking crc errors.

going to try disabling quickckeck and if i doesn't work, uninstall everything and reinstall 4.12.
this just seems like a really odd problem, especially since i was using the free ipv6 and everything was fine. then when that pretty much shit the bed, i paid for astraweb and bam, problems.

should i clear my cache or history before trying to redownload something? i guess i'll try it w/o clearing, then if it fails again, clear it.

If you have NZBs with multiple rar-sets, disable QuickCheck.
There's a problem with that, will fixed in next Beta.

I am having the same problem withe the latest beta on Win7. I use Astraweb but have Blocknews as a backup server. It seems to be around half of my large downloads are failing with CRC errors at the final stage.

For example the last download I had was 10GB MKV. I had a look and quickcheck is unticked. My biggest issue is that Sab discarded all the files. It was a 10GB download and it deleted everything even though it knew it hadn't worked. I looked in the incomplete folder and there is nothing there either. Is there anyway I can stop it doing this? Is going back to 0.4.12 the fix?

Also want to say what a terrific program, nothing else like it.

SABnzbd never deletes files.
If you get no files it's probably because the server doesn't have the content.
Have you looked in the logging file?
Are your NZB files OK?

You might test with 0.4.12 just to eliminate 0.5.0 as the cause.

I'll download with Sab4 and Grabit to test. I get NZB's from Newzbin so I assume they are ok. I have attached the log. I have checked and Quick Check is NOT ticked. It says it is in the log though.

Grabit is too limited, it can't be configured with a fill server like with SABnzbd+.
Why does the log say Quickcheck is OK if it is disabled in the web interface?
Why was the incomplete folder found to be empty?
The post is 134 days old, and Blocknews has 100% of the articles even if Astraweb has as little as 70%.
If the NZB is complete, and Blocknews failed to send an article missing from Astraweb, why did that happen?  Answer somewhere in a huge session log.

Did you install a proper unrar program?
The real thing from rarlabs and not the free stuff?
http://www.rarlab.com/rar_add.htm
And make sure you get 3.90 or 3.91.
Most open source unrar's suck big time.

Sorry but I have no idea about any of this to be honest. The box was unticked though.
I went back to Sab4 and it worked no problem. If there is anything I can do to help figure out this issue let me know.

I'm having a similar problem. I'm on OS X with SAB 4.12. The weird thing is that there have been no changes to my system (that i can think of). About a week ago, i just started getting tons of errors like this during download:

WARNING
[decoder] => missing from all servers, discarding

2010-01-10 08:09:52,469
WARNING
[assembler] missing

When this starts happening, inevitably, SAB fails to unpack the files. At first blush, it would seem obvious that there is just a problem with the files on the news server. There are a few things that don't add up, though. One, I'm getting these errors for almost every download, including popular TV shows that I download regularly and the files are only a few days to a few weeks old (well within retention). The other thing that is weird is that I use Newshosting for my news service, so why is SAB reporting the problem as coming from astraweb? Finally, in many cases, if i simply stop SAB, clear the cache and log directories and then re-download the same nzb, everything comes down fine. I have also tested (immediately after SAB failes) by downloading the files using NZBdrop and then upacking with MacRAR and they download an upack fine.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Add a 2nd Newshosting server as a backup (fill), make sure total allowed connections don't exceed 30, and see how it goes.

SABnzbd isn't telling you that it talks to astraweb.
It just means that the material was uploaded to astraweb, the origin can often be seen in the article identifiers.

You could try to clean the cache folder, but that's a bit tricky to do.
Otherwise you might consider an upgrade to 0.5.0 Beta6.
