Implement Nzbmatrix category support like Newzbin?

This depends on them exposing categories like Newzbin does. In the meantime, third-party developers like Duz are working on options to do this via scraping. Category-detection support will be in an upcoming build of nzbdstatus.

Until that is done, we cannot support their categories.

what about in the bookmark rss feed from nzbmatrix.  Category comes back, can't sab use that?  it would be awesome to have a way to match fields from an rss item to a specific category.

I think with the current state of Newzbin (and I dont think we will ever see it back to what it used to be before they lost the court case) it would be grate if we got proper support for nzbmatrix in sabnzbd, especailly the category support we have with newzbin.

I am running the 0.5.0 release.. Is there beta's floating around with better support?

edit: I just installed 0.5.1 RC2, it doesnt seem to have more support for nzbmatrix either.

Bookmark downloading from nzbmatrix would also be great of course. But i understand it is all up to nzbmatrix.

yes they have one that works fine, however we'd like to see the categories they send through be used and translated to sab categories

We've been hesitant to implement parsing of nzbmatrix' rss feed category field because it would be one-off code, since there's no "standard" way people implement categories for rss feeds. If we do one-off stuff like this, we prefer it to be related to implementing an API. However, since it seems NZBMatrix is unwilling to add category support to their actual API, we might as well implement their RSS categories.

I agree that one-off coding is best to be avoided, however, allowing advanced users to implement a regex matching rule on the description node of the rss feed in order to capture a category would not be as specific as a one-off code.  Not as good as a hook into the api, but a decent alternative.

Will it be possible to allow the "Get Bookmarks" link to also check the RSS feeds? The only way to force rss updates that I can find is in the config page, which is not intuitive.

Nzbmatrix doesn't have a bookmark API.
All it has is a special feed. So we will not "connect" getbookmarks-now to nzbmatrix.
We're also not pre-configuring their special RSS feed.
We might do more when they implement a proper API.

I'm always wondering why people want "now" buttons on a program
that really should be doing it's work in the background.
The less you see SABnzbd, the better we did our job
