SAB can be quite processor consuming if downloading at full speed. So it would be great if SAB would let us use CPU intensive apps by pausing download and post processing if processes are running. SAB could check every X Seconds. Alternatively SAB could go to pause mode if the CPU speed reaches a certain level. I think this would be great intelligent and outstanding. It would make SAB perfectly fit in any OS.
Examples killing my 4GB Imac would be starting parallels or Fusion, XBMC and trying to watch a HD movie. Starting Unison. Those come to my mind right now.
Sorry seems coming if I understand right

Re: Extended Pause features
I use Process Tamer ([ur=http://DonationCoder.coml]DonationCoder[/url]) in XPP. It does not limit process in the way you describe; it merely changes priority. unrar and par2 checking invariably are run in lowest priority by Process Tamer according to their respective cpu load.
But I would be delighted if pause did _pause_ every process of SABnzbd+ not merely downloading.

Re: Extended Pause features
Cannot be done, because once par2 an unrar start, they cannot be gracefully paused or stopped.dyscrase wrote: But I would be delighted if pause did _pause_ every process of SABnzbd+ not merely downloading.
Re: Extended Pause features
Can be paused on Linux just fine, eg if I run from the commandline I can hit CTRL+Z to fully pause the process, and later type 'fg' to continue it. It's also possible on Windows, I've done it with Process Explorer before, right-click process and choose 'Suspend' and then later 'Resume'. I haven't used it a lot, so I don't know if it causes problems on Windows, but on Linux I do it all the time with no problems. I assume Mac is the same as Linux, but I don't know.shypike wrote:Cannot be done, because once par2 an unrar start, they cannot be gracefully paused or stopped.dyscrase wrote: But I would be delighted if pause did _pause_ every process of SABnzbd+ not merely downloading.
Re: Extended Pause features
That doesn't mean we think it's worthwhile to do that.
So you paused and then decide to shutdown SABnzbd.
Then what should happen?
