NHXL and SSL downloads

Hi,

I have some trouble downloading from usenet with SSL enabled.

Version: 0.4.2
OS: Windows Home Server
Install-type: Windows Installer
Skin: Default
Firewall Software: Noe
Are you using IPV6? No, not to my knowledge
Is the issue reproducible? Yes

Provider: newshosting.com, NHXL account, SSL enabled.


Newshosting provides this information

hostname: nhxl.newshosting.com
port: 119
standard routing ports: 119, 23, 25, 80, 3128
alternate routing ports: 7000, 8000, 9000

In addition this thread http://forums.sabnzbd.org/index.php?topic=947.0 suggests using port 443.

I've earlier been able to download using port 443, but now none of the ports are working with SSL. I just get timeouts, eventually.
If I remove the SSL tick mark my downloads start immediately.
I've contacted newshosting support and they are not aware of any issues affecting their servers at the moment.

Is anybody else having problems with NHXL and SSL at the moment?

We have no specific info on newshosting.com.
Which port you need to use is determined by newhosting.com, not by us.

Try different ports. If needed, check with some other Usenet program that supports SSL (e.g. Grabit).

Just for the record I love sabnzbd and I'm suggesting that there is a problem with the sw. I'm just curious if there are other users of NHXL that are experiencing problems with SSL.

I had intermittent problems with NHXL and SSL a few days ago.  I switched back and forth between port 443 and 563, but they both were spotty.  I emailed Newshosting and they admitted to server issues.

Things seem pretty good today -- although the initial connection seems to take longer than it used to with my old non-SSL Unlimited service.

Same thing happened to me and I did the same. Just switch between 443 and 563. Also sometimes it seems to take a good 30secs to a minute to connect or authenticate or something with ssl on for me.

I seem to have the same issue of SSL ports not working. I have tried both  ports 563 and 443 and I get no connection. Is this my ISP blocking those ports? I had a ticket open with Newshosting. What are my options here people
