Can't get RSS and/or NZBMatrix working?

Hi all,

I've signed up for a premium account over at NZBMatrix, got my API key and entered it into the correct index section of sabnzbd. Now I can get newzbin working perfectly, that's no problem, but nothing seems to work with nzbmatrix, no queue or bookmarks are picked up by SabNZBD?

I've also setup an RSS feed pointing to my bookmarks, and if I click the "preview" button I can see it's matched a download, but for some reason it doesn't auto-download them at all, i've checked the schedule in general settings, i've change it from default of 60 mins to another setting, but no joy at all.

I've checked the logs and can't see anything at all about it even trying to connect to the RSS source or NZBMatrix?

I must be missing something obvious here?

You do know that the first batch is never downloaded automatically?
(The jobs marked with *).
Only subsequent new jobs are downloaded.
The backlog can be downloaded with "Force Download".

Thanks for the info, I didn't know it wouldn't download the first one, thanks for letting me know.

However, i've added a second batch to the feed using a simple

re:.*

which should grab anything anyway, but it's still not working?

It still needs to see new jobs in the feed.
If no non-starred jobs appear in the matched or unmatched sections, then there are no new jobs.

BTW: you can use just "*" instead of "re:.*".

I'm wondering actually if it's not just a problem with it checking RSS feeds tbh. I seem to have everything setup correctly, but it just doesn't want to connect to the RSS source.

If I view my log-file I can see connections when I did a preview

But that's only RSS entry in there, there's nothing after that at all. In general settings i've set the RSS time to 15 mins.

It looks like the feed is empty.
The easiest test is to paste the feed URL into the web browser.
What do you see then?

The feed was just empty for the preview (I emptied it, then did a preview then have since added something to the feed) there's an entry in there now when I view in browser, but nothing appearing in sabnzbd.

I emptied it then previewed to clear the cache

But still nothing showing in sabnzbd queue or since then

I am having the same issue with NZBMatrix.  I purchased a VIP with NZBMatrix.  Newzbin works fine with the build in bookmark feature and TVNZB RSS feeds.  I have queued up multiple movies to the bookmarks on Matrix and got the RSS address but nothing ever appears in the queue.  The RSS URL comes up OK and when I force download I get the following confirmation (removed title names):

I also use the SABNZB Google Chrome plugin that lets me monitor my queue and converts any NZB download buttons on webpages into a SABNZB buttons that send the downloads immediately to my server queue.  Those buttons work with every other website Ive tried (Newzbin, TVNZB, etc) but with NZBMatrix the downloads appear in the queue for a second and then disappear.

Hope that made sense, anyone have any advice?

The NZBmatrix issues are still under investigation.
Any error messages?
Look in the log file.
Did you setup a correct userid and apikey for NZbmatrix in SABnzbd?
Did you add the required &dl=1 parameter to the feed URL?

The Chrome plugin is supported elsewhere: http://code.google.com/p/sabconnect/
I think the implementation is very much dependent on the design of the website.

Sorry to butt into someone elses thread.

I'm finding this all a bit confusing.

I have a VIP account at NZBMatrix. I've entered my account username and API in the index site tab. I bookmark a few files on NZBMatrix yet nothing gets downloaded.

Do I also have to add an RSS feed for NZBMatrix? (This is the bit I don't understand as it seems I'd be entering the same information twice once under index site and again under RSS feed)

You need to put nzbmatrix's special bookmark RSS feed into the RSS section.
nzbmatrix doesn't have newzbin's sophisticated API.

OK I was a little confused about the APIkey part.  I figured out how to generate APIKEY and add it to the end of the RSS URL.  Now it seems to be pulling my bookmarks and adding downloads to my SABNZB queue.  Thank you for the responses.

The support situation for nzbmatrix is a bit confusing.
The only thing that we support is adding the userid and apikey
to URL's if you didn't do that yourself.
Other than that there are only a few minor tweaks in the code
that (should) make communication with nzbmatrix more reliable.
In the future we'll support a bit more.

BTW: nzbmatrix uses an apikey, but they don't really have an API.
It's just used instead of the password.

Since Newzbin is pretty much gone at this point unless a miracle happens it is looking like NZBMatrix is going to be the next best solution.  Therefor it would be nice to see SAB add more NZBMatrix built in feature/comparability.  I don't know much about APIs but it kind of sounds like Matrix may not allow or support 3rd party functionality.  If that is the case then I suppose there is nothing that can be done but talk to them.


Disregard post, I apologize but I had not realized the latest 0.5 version support NZBMatrix now.  After setting up all the API settings correctly and configuring my SABconnect plugin for Chrome I have everything working perfectly.  Again sorry for the misinformed post

Sorry for bumping such an old thread, but this is the exact same issue I'm having.

Things I've done-

1. Verified my NZBMatrix API is valid/correct
2. Subscribed to my Bookmarks RSS feed.
3. Added some junk to my bookmarks.
4. Forced a bookmark refresh.
5. Nothing happens.

Every time I mash the "Read All Feeds Now" button I get this entry in my logs-

So it's reading them, but rss_data.sab is empty when I look to see what's in it. Also I've verified that the RSS feed for my bookmarks actually has stuff in it, and I've actively tried adding/removing/refreshing and nothing seems to work.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'm running all the latest versions of things as well.
