I have my folder where the downloaded files go set to be shared, but I am not able to copying anything over the network since when sabnzbd is running it is using the files. It gives me the error saying the folder/file is currently in use. Is there a way other then a script to move the files to another folder to fix this? Server box is XP Home, other computer is XP Pro.
TIA

I don't quite understand the situation. You must give some more details.
What do you want to accomplish and what fails?

Re: Windows Network Permission
Sorry, I want to copy the files from my computer in my basement to my computer upstairs.
The folder that the downloaded files go to (on basement computer) is shared on my network. When I try to copy them to my upstairs computer I get an error saying they are currently in use. When sabnzbd is not running I have no problem copying the files.

Re: Windows Network Permission
Must check this.
Windows is extremely sensitive about this subject. If it even *thinks* some program is using a file/folder, it refuses deletion (or moving).

Re: Windows Network Permission
Permission are set correctly, every other folder works just fine, only the one where the downloaded files from sabnzbd go.pair of dimes wrote: Not sure, check your permissions again?
Re: Windows Network Permission
There is only a newzbin-category bug, not a user-defined category bug.
Anyway, it will all be fixed in Beta5 (and already in the SVN-trunk now).

Awesome! Thanks a lot!
Re: Windows Network Permission
I have been using your described setup for ages without any problems.
When SABnzbd finishes a job it no longer touches any file of the job, nor it's folder.
I'm not sure if it makes a difference. But is the download computer using the local path (like c:\download) or
the share path (\\downloader\download)?
On my systems it makes no difference. The download system is a Server2003 box and the clients
are various XP boxes and one XBox with XBMC.
BTW: the "permissions" issue is Linux/OSX only. On Windows, SABnzbd just assumes you have set the rights
of the base folder correctly (all job folders inherit the rights of the base folder).
