Hi,
I'm trying to add 2 servers with the same hostname but when I add the second, the first one is replaced by the one I want to add.
I think the 'Primary Key' is on the hostname ( + port? ). Maybe it's better to add the username also to the primary key.

Multiple server with 1 hostname
Re: Multiple server with 1 hostname
Try using a different port.
Most Usenet servers support multiple ports.
We never designed it with the assumption that people would have multiple accounts
on the same server.

Re: Multiple server with 1 hostname
Hi shypike,
My internet was upgraded today to 80 MBit. My usenet provider only supports 50 MBit so i needed an extra account.
I created another account and payed. But my provider uses the same ssl server for each account. The host to connect
with no ssl enabled is most of the time a different one. But i want to use ssl on both accounts so i have to connect with
2 different accounts to 1 server. Because you can have only 1 server with the same hostname and portnumber i can't use
ssl on my second account. I can't use another port because it will not work.
Will you please consider it to update on the next version.

Re: Multiple server with 1 hostname
Substitute one server name with the numerical IP address of the server.
(nslookup news.myserver.com)
(nslookup news.myserver.com)
Re: Multiple server with 1 hostname
Hello,
i can fully understand phoenix1337 and i think this would be a nice feature.
I ,too, have multiple accounts, although only one at a time is active. Everytime i switch to the next i have to enter username/password.
The Hostname and Port is the same for all accounts. Using the IP is not a valid solution, since this would allow only 2 Server Entrys.
In my case i have 5 Accounts (don't ask why ) at one Provider.
If it would be possible to just add as many Servers as i want, i can switch from one account to the other with two clicks (deselect active from the old account and make the current one active).
From my point of view, the only thing to be done here is to not use the hostname as identifier, but maybe the combination from hostname and username, or a userdefined name, mabye.
Since this topic is rather old, i hope someone reads it nethertheless
Thanks a lot.

Re: Multiple server with 1 hostname
This might make it to the next major release.
It's not especially difficult, but needs a bit of testing to look for side-effects.

Re: Multiple server with 1 hostname
Great Thank you very much ...
Re: Multiple server with 1 hostname
It's now in the 0.6.x source code, so it will be in the first Beta for release 0.6.0
Re: Multiple server with 1 hostname
What a great way to begin this fresh year. Thank you very much ...
Any plans at which date you want to release 0.6.0 ?

Re: Multiple server with 1 hostname
"Real soon".
However, we have been saying that for a while now.
If you want, I can add you to the Alpha test group, we've had several Alpha releases for a limited group.
