Sabnzbd stalling on downloads, screenshot and log inside.

Post by nem »

Hi

Ive been using this program for a while now and im really happy with it.
When thats said i have a problem which ive had through a few versions. This problem is not unique to me as i got a friend, whom i introduced to the program and to usenet, which is experiencing the same issue.

Some times Sabnzbd will stop downloading a file. The download speed will go down to 0kbs and it will just stay there, not moving on to the next item in the queue or anything.
It usually happens towards the end of the download, but i have seen cases where it has happened earlier.

Pausing/resuming the download does nothing for this. Moving it does nothing (except that it will start to download the item on the top of the queue after you move the stalled one)

Version: 0.5.3
OS: Windows 7 x64 pro
Install-type: Windows Installer
Skin (if applicable): Plush
Firewall Software: None, Windows firewall disabled. Router firewall disabled.
Are you using IPV6? No
Is the issue reproducible? Yes and no. I cant do it on purpose but it happens semi-regularly.

Below is a screenshot of several files that are stalled.
Note that this queue was around 80-90gb when it started downloading, i suspect this MIGHT have something to do with the issue due to what ive seen in the past but i have no idea.
Also node that ive manually moved around on the queue and thats why there is two almost finished items aswell as a third and fourth one thats started.

If i hadnt touched the queue it would have just been the first file that was started, the others would be at 0%.

I proceeded to adding the nzb for the first file in grabit and it had no problems whatsoever in downloading it. I have done this in the past as well and there has never been problems with the files..

Please let me know if additional info is required.

Yes i do, i got 1 primary and 3 alternate ones, both with and without ssl encryption.

They are all belonging to the same provider tho.
I will try disabling all but 1 server.

Very well.

I disabled my 3 alternate servers and the problem went away.

Why is this happening? Is it my servers or a bug with the program?
I dont need to have the alternate servers enabled so i will leave them disabled now.

Thanks for your help/question.

Astraweb allows 50 connections total and the log shows connection overload 'Too many connections'.

If you configured 20 each to ssl-eu, us, eu that's 60 which exceeds total allowed by 10.

I don't see evidence in the log that any connection hung and failed to send 'I don't have it'.  That doesn't appear to be the issue in your case.

The significance of pastebin line 216 "Disk error on creating file" is not known to me, shypike might be able to explain why that happened.

I don't see in the log that any connections were opened or attempted to ssl-us but it wouldn't have found the missing articles anyway.  Configuring multiple Astraweb servers doesn't do much good, they are all missing the same articles.  The way that Astraweb feeds articles to Blocknews, Blocknews doesn't have them either, but Highwinds does fill them in up to a certain shorter retention; a cheap block account provider for Highwinds is Usenet-news.net .  For DMCA issues, the opposite is true; Giganews and Highwinds don't have the articles, but Astraweb and Blocknews can fill them in.  I would buy cheap blocks from both Blocknews and Usenet-news.net

OK, I missed that one.
It's very significant. It means that SABnzbd cannot write a downloaded file to disk.
Rather serious. Disk full? Disk corruption?
Although it doesn't explain the hangup as such.
