Hi - Well impressed with how this has all moved on since I last looked, I am using this succesfully on one PC but am having some issues on a new setup.

Basically I have been dual booting between Windows & and Ubuntu 9.10 but have just been intorduced to virtualbox, so am now running a test ubuntu guest ontop of windows 7 using VB

I follow the setup an all looks good, however when I complete the wizard it goes into a loop and restarts the wizard each time I go to sabnzbd in a browser. I have tried this twice with the same results, is this because a file is not writeable?

Any guidance will be appreciated  :)

Could well be. Wizard comes up if there's no server defined (iirc). Anyway, set logging to max ('-l 2' command line option - that's a lowercase L there) and check.

My bad - server details were wrong - thanks jcfp  :)

Will the new version be added to the repository so we can update.

I'm getting some strange renaming errors where it's adding tv series info to non tv items.

JCFP,

I have been using your repo to install and run Sabnzbdplus for a while. Untill a few days ago i had no problems.
But after a reinstall of my Ubuntu 10.04 system it won't autostart everytime.

I have added my username in /etc/default/sabnzbdplus but on occasion it does not autostart. If i reboot the system, it will work agiain.
Is this a bug, or is there something else wrong? Our could i add Sabnzbd to the startup programs (how does one that?).

Thanks in advance.

Paul

PS. When i use [sudo sh -x /etc/init.d/sabnzbdplus start] i get this output:

These kind of occasional failures are very hard to diagnose; very little changed in the init script since the previous release. All the output looks normal and indicates a properly configured and working install. I'll keep an eye for it, since there's two of you complaining about this, but I don't see any obvious cause right now.

Adding the repo this way doesn't work under Linux Mint.

Follow jcfp's guide, then in terminal:

sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list

Find deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/jcfp/ppa/ubuntu Isadora main

Change Mint version (currently Isadora) to Ubuntu version (currently lucid)

Save, exit, then:

sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get upgrade.

Hi there,

I'm having an Asrock 330HT with Ubuntu 10.4 with XBMCfreak Live CD Beta 1 with an updated version of XBMC to Beta 2.

Next to XBMC i installed Sabnzbdplus and follow the tutorial as described above. I modified my /etc/default/sabnzbdplus. Wich is here:

Code: Select all

# This file is sourced by /etc/init.d/sabnzbdplus
#
# When SABnzbd+ is started using the init script, the
# --daemon option is always used, and the program is
# started under the account of $USER, as set below.
#
# Each setting is marked either "required" or "optional";
# leaving any required setting unconfigured will cause
# the service to not start.

# [required] user or uid of account to run the program as:
USER="xbmc"

# [optional] full path to the configuration file of your choice;
#            otherwise, the default location (in $USER's home
#            directory) is used:
CONFIG=

# [optional] hostname/ip and port number to listen on:
HOST=192.168.1.171
PORT=9090

# [optional] extra command line options, if any:
EXTRAOPTS=
And here is the output when i execute the follow code "sudo sh -x /etc/init.d/sabnzbdplus start":

Code: Select all

[sudo] password for xbmc:
+ DAEMON=/usr/bin/sabnzbdplus
+ SETTINGS=/etc/default/sabnzbdplus
+ [ -x /usr/bin/sabnzbdplus ]
+ [ -r /etc/default/sabnzbdplus ]
+ DESC=SABnzbd+ binary newsgrabber
+ DEFOPTS=--daemon

The problem is that Sabnzbdplus does not autostart when i turn on the machine. Since i'm no Linux expert i really don't know where to look or what to do so i am in need of some help of experienced Linux programmers. So if anyone can identify a problem and maybe knows a solution than please feel free to comment!

Thanks in advance,

Thanks for the info! It all works fine now. The developer of the XBMCfreak live CD beta 1 forgot to set the permissions of the .sabnzbd dir to the default user.
