I'm using google chrome 6.0.447.0 dev on windows 7. A lot of the times when i click on the sab icon it just downloads the nzb instead of sending it straight to sabnzbd.

Anyone else have this problem? and if so, do you have a solution?

cheers

All my fixes (and more improvements) have been published by the author of SABConnect++:
https://chrome.google.com/extensions/de ... jfacbkkbod

You might want to try this instead of the older SABConnect.

I can't seem to reach switch to update SABConnect to fix such issues, and implement new features.

To get this fixed, you might want to open a ticket in the SABConnect++ issues tracker: http://code.google.com/p/sabconnectplusplus/issues
Give the version of Chrome you're using (incl. OS), and a copy/paste or screenshot of the Console (Page menu icon and select Developer > JavaScript Console), after you clicked a SAB link that downloaded a file instead of sending to SAB.
Also indicate where you clicked exactly: on what page were you (URL), and what did you click on there.

Cheers.

sorry to bump an old thread, but is anyone having problems having a blank popup window that only has links to open sab and the extension settings?  It seems that I can't consistently get the extension to connect when not in the settings.

I am running 6.0.472.63 version of chrome and 5.4 sab on windows 7 enterprise.  I am  also using https for sab as well.

This is caused by your use of HTTPS in SABnzbd, which uses an invalid (self-signed) certificate.
Since the certificate is not valid, Chrome (extensions) can't access that server until you go to it yourself, and accept the big red warning about an invalid certificate. Once you do, Chrome will remember your choice until the next Chrome restart, and thus extensions will be allow to access that URL too starting then.

If possible, I suggest using the non-HTTPS URL in SABConnect++ settings.
If the address to SABnzbd is local (same computer, or same network), then not using HTTPS is fine. If the URL to SAB is remote (through the Internet), then you might want to stick to using HTTPS, but know you'll have to visit SAB first every time you restart your browser.

Maybe it's possible to import the SAB SSL certificate in Windows, and mark it 'always allow' (not sure; I don't use Windows). You can take the 'server.cert' file in SABnzbd directory, rename it to whatever.crt, and double-click it on your client machine. This should launch a certificate importer. There might be more detailed guides on how to achieve that in SAB forums or wiki.

Another option: obtain a valid SSL server certificate (can be free at http://cacert.org for example)  that uses the URL you use to access SAB. There might be more detailed guides on how to achieve that in SAB forums or wiki.

Thanks for the help.  It should be possible to import the certificate but for some reason Windows isn't saving the certificate, so I have to always confirm that sab's certificate is ok (which also stinks on chrome because I can't save my login details).

Nevertheless, I was hoping that (and since I don't see a thread for sabconnect++ that I can use this one) similar to nzbdstatus on firefox, that for nzbs.org a 'Send Selected to Server' button could be added.  This would allow a person to select multiple nzbs and then just bulk send them to sab, rather then having to click each one individually.

You can post questions or ideas in the SABConnect++ extension page here: https://chrome.google.com/extensions/de ... jfacbkkbod
I monitor it, and implemented bugfixes and suggestion weekly.

Wouldn't be hard to do that for nzbs.org; I already do it for other sites, so I already have the logic to do this. Just need to place the button and skin it a little.

Can you please post that suggestion on the extension page? That way, I'll get it in my RSS reader, and I'll star it until I have time to implement it.

Cheers.
