I'm using astraweb and am getting TONS of failed downloads for various reasons. Among the most common are:
No post-processing because of failed verification or "failed because an unexpected file failed to unpack"
I also have the +delete post processing option enabled but its not deleting anything. This is troublesome because when the incomplete folder finishes it's moved wireless to my NAS which takes a long time. So instead of moving a 1 GB MKV it moves a 1GB MKV + 1GB of RARs and PAR files.
There are some potential issues with poorly encoded "foreign" characters in RAR files
in that SABnzbd and UNRAR don't always agree how to map these to something the OS supports.
If you encounter this often and you are sure there's not a real issue,
you can disable the check that SABnzbd does.

I followed those instructions and changed that switch from 1 to 0 and over half of my downloads still failed last night, all due to "No post-processing because of failed verification". I am also running two backup block servers behind my astraweb server so I'm not sure how I'm getting so many failed downloads.
I've got Astra as well and I'm having the same problems, tonight an episode just came out and I tried grabbing it from 3 different searchers (NZB.su, NZBmatrix, wombles) and they all failed, just to note (not that i think it matters) I'm grabbing all of these through sickbeard, I'm gonna try to edit the config and see what happens. Also it's on windows xp, so i could see a random character giving this kind of issue.
Ok doing that config change (make sure to shutdown then change the ini then reboot) fixed that download and I was able to grab from the providers it failed on before. Only time will tell if this fixes my overall problem of having about 1/4 of my downloads fail

The quality of the NZBs is very important.
This isn't exactly improving lately, with the decline of reviewed report sites (like newzbin) and DMCA notices.
Do you have more info about why verification failed, the amount of missing blocks?
The rare times we find dubious behaviour by SABnzbd, it's mostly due to fringe cases from sloppy uploaders.
So you need to come up with a solid case.
