Sabnzbd 0.6.0 RC1 and RSS feed

Hi to the Moderators etc,
I am new to sabnzbd (only using in the past 4 months) and must say what a great program. Makes life a lot easier dling from usenet.

Now onto my problem, I have been using Sabnzb in conjunction with NZB Matrix for the last 4 months or so, And it has been working flawlessly with the Bookmarking on nzb matrix (vip account) and the RSS feed in Sabnzbd.
Since I have installed RC1 over Beta 4 the RSS feed is broken and will not pick up any bookmarks I have created.
I changed no settings between Beta 4 and RC1 (which were working). I have also tried generating a new api number in matrix and setting up a new feed in Sab, to no avail, as before will not pick up the feed.

If it could be looked into that would be great.

Edit * I have reinstalled beta 4 over the top of rc1 and the rss feed is working again, so something relating to the rss feed is broken in rc1 for sure.

There's nothing broken in RC1 with nzbmatrix.com, it works fine.
Well, most of the time.
I repeatedly get empty NZBs from the nzbmatrix API, while the website report does have a valid NZB.
Using the same URL with the browser gives the same empty NZB.

I have complained several times on their forum and I have seen several confirmations from other people.
Unfortunately they are still in denial but have reported lots of transient problems.
I find it difficult to take nzbmatrix-related complaints about SABnzbd seriously.

Please describe what goes wrong exactly. "Doesn't pick up" is hardly an accurate description.

By "pick up" i mean that that it does not find the nzb and start downloading.

If I go to the RSS feed page in sab and click on the "read all feeds now" the screen refreshes, like it used to in beta 4 then after a few seconds I go to the download page nothing happens. I leave it for hours and nothing happens. I try the read all feeds again and nothing happens. I have sab set to start on bootup, and to download automatically using the rss feed from my nzb matrix account, and nothing happens. (only in rc1 as beta 4 works fine).

I was unaware that there are issues like the ones that you talked about in you reply as I am new to sab and it has always just worked using version 6 beta 1 to beta 4. Just that I had the problems when I installed the rc1.

The issues that I mentioned should be clearly visible in the History as failed jobs.
I may have vented my frustration with nzbmatrix a bit too much, right after having reported
issues again to the nzbmatrix forum. Sorry, I can be as impatient as any forum user

What you describe is more like the RSS feed isn't read.
What is your RSS interval?
Is the feed still enabled (checkbox upper right corner)?
When you click the "read feed" button do you see new jobs appear in the preview?

Yeah it probably is that the Rss feed isn't read which is what I meant by "not picked up"
My rss feed is enabled with the interval set at 20 mins as there is a suggestion in sab saying not to go below 15mins.
When i clicked the read feed button nothing was appering in the preview, nothing was happening. Twice i got the error saying that the nzb was empty so it wouldn't download but the other half dozen times i tried (with different bookmarks on nzb ranging from a couple of hours to a couple of days old), there would be nothing in the preview, no "trying to fetch" bit just no response at all.
I am sorry that i am not able to help you out with more technical stuff but this is the first time that i have ever used RSS feeds in all my years of computing. I am a noob when it comes to this stuff.

There's one very easy check.
Just paste the RSS URL into the browser's address bar.
It should give you a view on the feed content. If not, then it's the URL or the server that's wrong.

Same behaviour here, RSS feeds displaying fine in the browser, but SAB doesn't seem to pick anything up. Log says this:

Opening rss_data.sab in notepad does refer to items in the RSS feed, so something is happening.

What do you see in the preview in the RSS tab?
Do you see anything under "Matched"?
Does the "Skip" column contain asterisks?
The initial batch of a feed is never downloaded automatically,
only subsequent new jobs after that.

In RSS I only have one tab named Feeds, with my list of feeds.

If I click on "Read All Feeds Now" the screen will flicker and refresh, but there'll be no new tabs.

If I edit the feed and go to the filters tab, "Read Feed" downloads okay, and I get entries in the "Matched" section. I presume I can download okay from here.

But it's not working on the schedule, on demand from the Downloads screen or the main "Read All" button in the RSS screen.

Okay, working for me now - I presume the OP and I were having the same issue with the same RSS provide.

Yeah it probably was the same error. as over the last few days i put RC1 back on and am having no problems now. So sorry to the makers of this fine program etc as it appears to have been nzbmatrix's problem.
