Is SABnzbd in paused mode? Is any NZB in the queue in paused mode?

Further exploration revealed a completely blank connections screen. In config my usenetserver server wasn't enabled so activity commenced revealing another problem.

In connections :
news.usenetserver.com:119:thread #

Each thread indicates news.astraweb.com which I don't have an account with so kicking out tons of warnings!!?

Ideas?

None in paused mode.

Common misunderstanding.
What's shown here are article identifiers and these usually contain
the Usenet server where the article was originally uploaded.
So in this case astraweb.

What kind of warnings do you get?

These warnings just go on...

Files do seem to be downloading albeit very slowly <100 KB/s

That just means that your Usenet server doesn't have these articles.
How old is the NZB and what's your Usenet provider's retention time?
Possibly the post was removed because of an DMCA takedown request.

2 files <350 days with usenetserver retention of 900+

There must be somehting going on limiting the speed though, no? Would it make a difference if the download folder is an external USB hard drive?

Brand new mac mini, 2gb RAM, 5MB internet speed.

The slow "speed" is just a by product from the fact that nothing is downloaded.
All SABnzbd gets from the servers are "don't have article" messages.
Try some other NZBs.
If you doubt SABnzbd, test the failing NZBs with another Usenet client.

If you want to play them on the computer: get VLC.
