Hi all,
I'm wondering about if I have a primary server defined and two or more secondary servers, how does sabnzbd choose which secondary server it will try first? Is it in creation date order, or alpha order by name, or...?
Beautiful program btw... unbelievable in fact!

Re: sequence of server use
Fairly arbitrary.
In fact it's determined by the way the Python language decides
to order it's dictionary values.
So it might as well be random

Re: sequence of server use
Ohh, well, is there an easy way that could be made configurable, or at least follow some defined sequence?
I can see a use, if I have several block accounts, and I want to try the cheapest first...
Thanks.

Re: sequence of server use
In fact if there are multiple backup servers, they'll all be used.
"Optional" is for unreliable servers that might otherwise block the queue.
I have doubts about making server selection more complex than it is,
when it's a use case for a limited audience.

Re: sequence of server use
I thought server ordering was on the books for 0.6.x . If not, here's a vote for a little more granularity. I use 3 news servers myself.
Such that priority would be useful.

Re: sequence of server use
I would also like this feature...
Doesn't have to be fancy. Priority could be deducted from the ini file. Highest prioirity first, lowest last. People can shuffle the servers in the order they like.

Re: sequence of server use
I agree that this feature would be very useful.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Re: sequence of server use
I would love a order also, my situation is
1, Astraweb US using SSL
2, Astraweb no SSL with diff hostname
3, BlockNews
If things are messed up on 1 (it seams it takes a little while to update) 2 will almost always have it. If 1 and 2 don't have it check 3 but only if 1 and 2 are missing it.

Re: sequence of server use
I would like to throw my name into the hat of those that would dearly like this feature.
Re: sequence of server use
I would also like to request server ordering.
Either way, thank you for such an excellent program.

You can stop posting supportive messages.
It's on the roadmap, but not for the next release.
(Or we'll never get 0.7.0 out the door).
