par2 and extraction causes Firefox to go into not responding

This has happened on multiple machines with every version of sabnzbd i have tried.. but basically when a file is done downloading and it goes to extract the contents.. i notice that par2.exe is consuming about 25% or more of the cpu, which really isnt that high, but high enuf that it causes firefox to hang.. while things like chrome and IE are fine..

At that point firefox will go in and out of a "not responding" type state..

Has anyone else ran into this and know of a way to fix it?
