incomplete download
I've had SABnzbd stop a download with only 5k left of a 100mb file. It just sits there. This happens fairly frequently. The pars would be enough to repair what's missing if the download were just to become unstuck and finish.
Is there a way to just tell it to ignore the remainder of the file and go download the par files?

Re: incomplete download
I tried a different nzb downloader and it worked perfectly. It downloaded what it could, got the par files, and repaired the rest.
Re: incomplete download
Note how it's just stuck. this typically only happens with older files.

Re: incomplete download
Install release 0.7.0Beta5
Re: incomplete download
that worked. thanks
Re: incomplete download
I take it back. It sort of works. Everytime I restart SAB it downloads one "stuck" file. After that, the others remain "stuck" unless I restart SAB again. And not even then it seems to work reliably that way each time. :/
It seems to work when there are only a few Kb left. However, sometimes it gets stuck with megs left. Then it doesn't seem to like to continue.

Re: incomplete download
Check the "Retry" settings in Config->Switches.
There are two: "Maximum Retries" and "Only for optional servers".
Make sure that they are somewhere between 3 and 5 and "Off" respectively.

Re: incomplete download
It's set to 3, and I only have one server.
"Only for optional servers" is unchecked.

Re: incomplete download
Are you getting any warnings or does the download of one file end in a pause?
Possibly the auto-pause detects that your disk is nearly full (or thinks it is).
Which OS are you using?

Re: incomplete download
No warnings nor errors.
Filesystem Size Used Avail Capacity Mounted on
/dev/disk0s2 89Gi 83Gi 6.3Gi 93% /
Although I have been getting some OS messages saying drive space is low (still 700mb left however). When I checked, there was plenty though.
Using OSX Lion.

Re: incomplete download
Using some kind of firewall or other (in)security software?
Re: incomplete download
nope. but why would that interfere in this way? It only happens with very old nzb's. All recent files work swimmingly.
Re: incomplete download
Some of the ones which have been stuck have slowly been progressing (very slowly). One even finished.
Re: incomplete download
Don't you consider that a clue?eydaimon wrote:It only happens with very old nzb's. All recent files work swimmingly.
SABnzbd doesn't care about the age of an NZB, but your Usenet provider does.
Most deliver very old articles much slower.
What is your timeout in the server settings?
Setting it short (say 30 sec) may be too short for old stuff.
Re: incomplete download
I do consider it to be a clue. I just don't know what to make of it.
The thing is, some files will download perfectly. Some files will download at 1.5mb/sec until the very last 1mb. That's when they get "stuck". But until that last 1mb or 756kb or whatever it is, the download is fast.
So if the usenet server delivered old files slower, you'd think the whole download would be slow, not just the last bit before the par files.
Timeout is the default 120 seconds.
