Got an M4 256GB SSD and was wondering if its a good idea to set it as the temporary folder location ?
Would it last with its limited R/W cycles ?

I guess not, because the files don't stay there very long.
At least make sure that you have an ample article cache in Config->Systems.
If you don't lose to much speed, a local hard disk is better.
But don't use a remote share or a USB drive.
