Hello all. This forum has been super useful to me for the last couple years. Everything I needed was available without having the ask. Today I come to you with a different issue. I have a Synology Diskstation running DSM 4.0. I have SABnzb and Sickbeard running on my Mac and working almost as well as I'd like them to. My issue is with SAB not completing the post processing because it is not waking up my diskstation. It'll download into my incomplete folder and transfer into my complete folder but won't run the post script and put it into the proper folder. I think I know the problem. After a while, I sometimes have to go into finder, click the folder I want to access and it'll take a couple seconds to show up. I'm assuming it is waking it up. Is there a way I can make SAB wait a couple seconds after trying to access a folder before it writes it off as being unavailable?
In case you're curious, the reason I don't run SAB and SB directly off the diskstation is because my DS212J can't seem to handle maxing out my connection. It will top off at about 3Mb/s and the CPU will be running at full capacity.

Re: Make SABnzbd wake up my NAS
It's more an OSX problem, it shouldn't time-out so soon.
Do you know if the drive is still in the /Volumes folder when it's asleep?

Re: Make SABnzbd wake up my NAS
Hmm... not sure how to answer your question. Let's use this scenario, I just woke up and both my mac and diskstation have been inactive all night. If I log onto my MAC, click diskstation, it'll take a second, populate, then I can click into my subfolders and those too will take a second to populate. Same scenario from SB. If I want to add a new show I would search for it, click next, and when I go to choose its directory, I can click Volumes but unless I've woken up the subfolders they won't show. I know this because I've been faced with having to actually go into my tv shows folder in finder before SB would recognize it.
After I have gone into one of the folders and 'woken' it, I can go back and it'll open up at nearly the same speed as my local folders. I'm pretty sure it has to do with the wake up process. Either the diskstation is taking a second to open and SAB isn't willing to wait or SAB just isn't able the wake the folder.

Re: Help With Categories
When SABnzbd tries to access the mounted drive,
OSX says the drive doesn't exist. That's the basic problem.
It might be possible to device some work-around, but it's basically
an OSX problem.
I'll think about it.

Re: Make SABnzbd wake up my NAS
For 0.7.1 there will be a limited solution, in the form of retries
for final destination folders.
A solution for the "incomplete" folder is too complicated to implement in a bugfix release.
A work-around would be to have a small script that first brings the drive online
and after that start SABnzbd.

Re: Make SABnzbd wake up my NAS
I know this is a few weeks old. I came looking for the same solution..
On my OSX my volume TV and Volume Video both still show the volume while the Synology is sleeping. It will still show the main file structure while it is waking from sleep. ( I assume it is showing last known file structure before updating upon wake.)
If the retries works, then then it will be a perfect solution for me. :-)
