I get que'd downloads but nothing starts it just says started and nothing happens !
I test the server it says its fine, I've tried SSL on and off port 443 no difference. I've contacted my provider just waiting to see what they say. Can anyone point anything out I might have missed...

Re: downloads not working
Have you tried simply with port 119 and SSL off?
Are you sure you're using the right host address in Config->Servers?
What kind of error messages do you get? (Use "Test server" in Config->Servers).

Re: downloads not working

sickbeard doesn't seem to want to play nice either- looks like i'm going to need a sharp learning curve!!

Re: downloads not working
I think you are mixing up ports.
"localhost" and "8088" are typical values for SABnzbd's built-in web server.
SickBeard has a similar web server and the port numbers of both programs need to be different.
The port that you use for Usenetserver is something else entirely.
That's the port used for the Usenet protocol.
The value is usually 119 when not using SSL and 563 (or another value) for SSL.

Re: downloads not working
ha yes sorry got ssl on port 443..
localhost 8088 on SABnzbd
web UI 8081 on sickbeard
I keep getting completed downloads but it says 54 articles(or so) are missing, is this normal?
sickbeard doesn't appear to pick the TVshow up and WinRAR & 7zip can't seem to piece the dl's together.....
AND now my two queued dl's have stopped and I can't get them going again?? I thought mIRC took some getting used to !!!
LOL

Re: downloads not working
Basic downloading with SABnzbd is not complicated, as long as you have a reliable NZB.
Those you get from an indexing site.
Adding SickBeard makes things a bit more complicated.
I suggest you first try to find a few NZB files manually, to check if your basic downloading/unpacking works.
The history entry of each job tells you how may articles are missing (click on it).

Re: downloads not working
thanks I've just been on NZBmatrix and set a few off, if the articles are missing and they say completed are they no good? once completed I can't see a way to repair or re-dl missing items.
seems SAB had paused, dunno why.. simple right click on icon and restart was all that was required! my throughput seems pretty constant so that's good - just incomplete packets. extracting/unpacking is a different matter are there any wiki's/guides on unpacking the files (rars/pars/001s etc...)??
thanks again

Re: downloads not working
It is customary for posters to add 10% of par2 files to enable repairs.
A couple of missing articles is not an issue, as long as at least 100% of total 110% (100% rar + 10% par2) is downloadable.
Make sure your NZB contains par2 files. Check in either nzbmatrix or SABnzbd (click on NZB name in queue).
When using nzbmatrix, check comments by other users (if any).
It's rarely possible to do manual repairs with QuickPar and unrar.

Re: downloads not working
right I have an episode of a program I can't extract quickpar says it is complete..
I have also had one which I set off from sickbeard that SAB compiled to mkv for me(success!)
if the first one says complete in quickpar but 7zip and WinRAR won't open it what am I doing wrong?

Re: downloads not working
It's very likely that the poster screwed up.
What kind of error do WinRAR and 7Zip show?
