Web Server questions

Post by raphnguyen »

Is the web server supposed to be accessible by any device outside of your network or is it only meant to be accessed within your network? If it is only accessible by devices on the same network, is there any way to make it so that I can access Sabnzbd anywhere?

You will need to use port forwarding.

Set this up on your router, Port forward a port (8080, 1234, 34343 anything >1024 will be good) to the IP of your SABNZBD server port 8080.

I'd recommend setting a username / password (strong one!)

Would port forwarding be the same as port mapping? That's the only option I have on my router.

You can choose. So if your router requires that, that's OK.
