No access to web interface

Post by SukkaFoo »

Hi All;

Any help would be appreciated. I am running Ubuntu 8.04 with SabNZBd 0.4.4. SabNZBd is working perfectly on this machine, however I cannot access the web interface from any other PC's on my network. I have set the host that SabNZBd should listen on to "blank", as well as trying it with the IP of the local machine. Anybody have any ideas, or pointer to some howto's for me to follow?

Have you restarted sabnzbd after changing the host? If you can then access sabnzbd on the same machine using the local ip then you should be able to access it from other machines in your network. If not then something else is blocking it.

I tried setting the host to the local machine's IP and then I couldnt even open it locally... Are there ports or something that may need to be opened in Ubuntu?

What does the logging say when you try and launch it with the local machine's ip address? (Open sabnzbd and the startup log will be at the bottom of sabnzbd.log)

Ok;

He find the logging above (sorry been a while since I have had time to deal with this). Again, I couldnt start the web interface when I set the host to the local machine's IP.Not sure if it is relevant or not, but the IP is assigned by DHCP

A few things to check:

1) On the Ubuntu machine, you can access http://localhost:8080/sabnzbd/, right?

2) On the Ubuntu machine, can you access via the LAN-IP-address, so something like http://192.168.1.120:8080/sabnzbd/. You can find you LAN IP Address via 'ifconfig' (CLI) or via System -> Administration -> Network Tools and then select the correct interface: wired or wireless interface (GUI)
If not, fill out "0.0.0.0" (and not spaces, according to my own experience) in Web Server - Host Setting, and then restart SAB and try again

If that works, proceed (and only then):

3) On another machine on your LAN, can you access SAB, for example via http://192.168.1.120:8080/sabnzbd/ ?
If not, can you ping the Ubuntu machine running SAB? Can you access http://192.168.1.120:8080/ and does it show a little cherry as icon next to the URL?

Yes, i can access the web interface using localhost

OK, it doesnt work with the blank web server, but I can access the interface from the ubuntu machine when using 0.0.0.0

Tested from another machine, works! Thanks a stack
