nzbmatrix RSS feed support

I noticed quite a few people use newzbin but not many on nzbmatrix.  Is this because sabnzbd RSS feed works with newzbin and not nzbmatrix, or you feel newzbin > nzbmatrix?  Would anybody be interested in nzbmatrix RSS feed support with auto-download of nzb for VIP and non-VIP?

I'd be interested.  The problem is that the links in the RSS from nzbmatrix don't go to a direct download. Problem with nzbsrus.com RSS is that the links require authentication.  It would be nice if each of these would provide a per-user authentication token that would enable direct downloads without being logged in.

TVnzb.com is the only site that reliably works for me with RSS, but since it's only doing mainstream TV shows, obscure things aren't likely to show.

The auto-download portion I mentioned would authenticate with nzbmatrix and then download the nzb from the nzbmatrix RSS feed.  This method could possibly be adapted to work with other nzb sites that use a similar authentication system for downloading nzbs from feeds.

I'm trying to see what the interest level is for a system like this because it seems most people are using newzbin anyway.

I'd be interested.  I like nzbmatrix as it's pretty quick.  Fortunately i watch mostly mainstream tv shows, so tvnzb picks them up...nzbmatrix would be a great bonus.

I'm a VIP user in nzbmatrix..if that makes any difference.

nzbmatrix does not support a proper API interface in the way newzbin does.
Nor a simple system like tvnzb has.

Unless they implement such a thing, SABnzbd will not support nzbmatrix.
We will not revert to screen scraping, since that means we must update SABnzbd
at every little website change.

I suggest that you direct your wishes to nzbmatrix itself.

nzbmatrix support for RSS feeds could be added (as ultimatejones has already coded) by simply rewriting the url to point to the download location instead of the "view report" location, and would also need authentication stored in sabnzbd configs and sent along with the request.

The question is, is there enough interest to warrant this addition? It would require extra time for support in coding and helping people, and there are many other services that people may end up wanting too.

With newzbin now censoring searches, there may be an influx of people to competitive sites such as nzbmatrix. Ultimatejones you are welcome to share your code, as I said before just email what you have done (either a diff or the full source code saying what version you based it off) to [email protected]

I am in the process of getting everything together to send to the sabnzbd team.  Some cleanup work needs to be done but this has been working with the nzbmatrix RSS feed for the last several weeks.

I do not have a VIP account at nzbmatrix but I am making the assumption that the download link will be the same for non-VIP and VIP accounts.

Code was sent to sabnzbd team.  Should be in the next release but there are understandably higher priority items.
