Not moving into 'Season' folder but outside of them. Help?
Hey all,
I'm slowly getting all of this set up and slowly getting all of the programs (Sickbeard, sabnzbd, XBMC etc) to talk to each other properly. I'm having an issue and I'm not sure if I can solve it or if this is how it's supposed to work. My problem is, when sabnzbd downloads a TV show, it doesn't put it into the season folder I have already set up, but instead puts it outside of the season folder. It does a great job of putting it into the show folder, but just not the season folder. Is there any way to correct this?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

When using SickBeard, you should not use SABnzbd's season sorting.
Let SickBeard do this.

Hmm...
Under 'Sorting' in the sabnzbd settings, I had 'Enable TV Sorting' checked, but even with it unchecked it still seems to not put the episode into the season folder I had there already. Is this the setting you are referring to?
Thanks.

Yes.
Moving the files to the proper place is SickBeard's task.
Do you have the SickBeard script set as user script in SABnzbd?

Re: Not moving into 'Season' folder but outside of them. Hel
Under 'User Folders', 'Post Processing-Scripts Folder' I have it pointing to the scripts folder with the sabToSickbeard script. Is this what you are referring to? It does a fine job at moving the file into the proper show folder, just not into the specific season folder.
Re: Not moving into 'Season' folder but outside of them. Hel
That would suggest that it's a SickBeard problem. There's a separate forum for that.

This is since sickbeards update of renaming rules. You will need to place the season argument first in your renaming string either %S or %0S
Re: Not moving into 'Season' folder but outside of them. Hel
Hello there,
i've got a similar problem. When I download a tv series e.g. the simpsons, the sorting options are set to
%sn/Season %s/%sn - S%0sE%0e - %en.%ext
So what should happen with a file called "The.Simpsons.S24E06.A.Tree.Grows.in.Springfield.avi"
it should be put in an folder structure that looks like this: D:\TV\The Simpsons\Season 24\The Simpsons - S24E06 - A Tree Grows in Springfield.avi
But it's just put in D:\TV\The Simpsons S24E06 A Tree Grows in Springfield\The.Simpsons.S24E06.A.Tree.Grows.in.Springfield.avi
So why is this? Its making a complete single folder for a single series. It should do that only for movies (as set in the option for generic sorting). And why did it work properly without any other scripts like sickbeard?
I allready asked people in the chat and tried some things out of this forum, but my settings seem to be correct (maybe they aren't or else it would work )
Something I am not sure about:
In the sorting settings, above the "Series Sorting" settings it says "Download Dir: D:\Downloads", shouldn't it say D:\TV because thats the TV-Series folder the category is pointing to?
And under "Affected Categories", all categories appear, but the series sorting should only effect the series, not the movies as (same unter generic sorting, all categiries appear)? Because the category "TV-series" also apears under "generic sorting" a series is put in a single folder and treated like a movie, for what ever reason.
I hope someone could follow my thoughts and has some ideas.
Thx 4 F1.

Re: Not moving into 'Season' folder but outside of them. Hel
This is happening to me also. I posted a thread about it before I read this. I don't use Sickbeard just SABnzb. I have the sorting setup the same way but it is putting it in the folders with the whole file name like above. I wonder if anyone can help with this. I like everything to be automatically organized and I hate having to rename everything.
Re: Not moving into 'Season' folder but outside of them. Hel
Well, it worked for me like this. It stopped working with version 0.7.3 or so, but I thought it was a bug and would be fixed, obviously its not a bug, but a feature ... .
Re: Not moving into 'Season' folder but outside of them. Hel
%sn/Season %s/%sn - S%0sE%0e - %en.%ext
This will give the result you ask for, a renamed media file in a Season folder.
It may sometimes also generate a superfluous empty folder, which is a bug to be fixed for the next release.
Do you have an example NZB where things go wrong in SABnzbd's sorting (so not SickBeard's)?
If so, email it to [email protected] and please add the URL of this post and your Sort settings.

Well, thats difficult. I checked the logs, but it only say's that the directory has been generated, but not that according to settings something went wrong (it just generates a single folder as discribed above but that doesnt go wrong so no error, I think).Do you have an example NZB where things go wrong in SABnzbd's sorting (so not SickBeard's)?

What do I need to show in the email to get the best result? That they can work with it? And how do I get the sort settings the easiest way? Out of the .ini file?

Didn't I already ask?stormsh wrote: What do I need to show in the email to get the best result? That they can work with it? And how do I get the sort settings the easiest way? Out of the .ini file?
An NZB file of a post that shows the behaviour that you think is wrong.
The Sort settings can be found on Config->Sorting, where you entered it in the first place.
What you can check, but possibly you already did that:
The NZB needs to have a category that is marked in the "Season Sort" part of Config->Sorting
You assign categories manually or they come directly from nzbmatrix (and you mapped those to your own in Config->Categories).
It also possible to get categories from a number of RSS feeds (e.g. nzbmatrix),
as long as you did the mapping in Config->Categories).
The last option is to tag all categories for Season Sort and SABnzbd will just try to match to a S01E02 or 1x02 pattern.
Re: Not moving into 'Season' folder but outside of them. Hel
Sorry, but sometimes I am a bit slow in understanding things, but I try:
Had another look. Maped em in the rss feed.
I think you mean "Enable TV Sorting" and then use the String "%sn/Season %0s/%sn - ect ...". Thats what I did.Season Sort" part of Config->Sorting
How do I map them? I didn't do it yet because it worked without mapping till a few weeks ago.or they come directly from nzbmatrix (and you mapped those to your own in Config->Categories).

Will do.An NZB file of a post that shows the behaviour that you think is wrong.
