List of Free Newsservers
Can we create a list of free newsservers and make it a sticky?
Re: List of Free Newsservers
Isn't that what's here? http://forums.sabnzbd.org/index.php?topic=51.0
In my (limited) experiance, free newsservers tend to come and go, are up and down, so a list wouldn't neccessary be the right thing.
The discussion about them is more 'up-to-date'
IMHO

Re: List of Free Newsservers
in my limited experience, you will struggle to download 30gigs. I tried for about 2 weeks to use an assortment of free newsservers, and I ended up downloading roughly 5gigs. I had a constant queue of items, it was just the servers were either:
a. unreliable (ie more down then up)
b. have speed caps
c. have block amounts that can be downloaded
In the end, I gave up and found a cheap provider

who is a cheap provider?
Re: List of Free Newsservers
I don't use them myself, but have heard good things about Astraweb, SSL and 160 days retention. If you sign up with this link: http://www.news.astraweb.com/specials/kleverig-11.html , you get unlimited downloads for $11 per month. Check out their block accounts too.
I use block accounts from Usenet-News, SSL and 120+ days retention (the oldest post i downloaded was 150+ days). Not a very professional homepage, but the server-park is good (highwinds), never had any problems. If you decide to give them a try, please use this referral code: 65583
