Good NL or other usenet provider to use with Astraweb

Post by superd707 »

Greetings. I have been using Atraweb as my primary server and have recently signed up for Extremeusenet (nl) to use to help with missing articles. It seems however that the same articles are missing off of extremeusenet as well. Does anyone know of a better combination or is the new process removing the same articles from all usenet servers? Thanks.

There are just a few backbone providers.

Eweka is not a reseller, it has been part of Highwinds for some years now.

Supernews as primary and Astraweb as back-up works fine for me.

I was using a combination of a Giganews unlimited account and a Blocknews block account, but I was still running into a lot of incompletes, especially on shows that have issues with DMCA takedowns.

I recently added a WonderNews (XSNews reseller) block account, and it has helped. I've only been using it for about a week, so I don't have long-term experience, but in the short-term it's helped complete quite a bit that Giganews and Blocknews failed on.

My plan at the moment is to drop Blocknews once my current block account runs out and run Giganews unlimited/WonderNews block from now on.

I bought a month's subscription. It didn't help at all.
Depends on the kind of material, of course, but their completion rate isn't perfect either.

More time using WonderNews has proven you correct. It does work better than Giganews + Blocknews for me, but it's still not nearly perfect.
