Stuck on Verifying

Hey all,

I'm having a problem with some files recently...
I'm on a fresh new install of the latest version of SAB on Windows 7.

I have quite a few files in the queue waiting to extract etc. However, they can't run because I've had some files stuck on verifying.

One file got to Verifying: 24/24 and just stayed there without doing anything for ages. So I stopped par2.exe and SAB, then deleted the file in the temp folder, run SAB and that fixed that. However, it's now gone onto the next file and it gets to Verifying: 16/16 and it's still stuck there and hasn't done anything for the last half an hour.

I have also tried replacing the par2 file with the classic par2 file and this hasn't solved it either

Any ideas why they're getting to the end of verifying and then not going any further?

im having a similar problem.. mines been stuck on 1/01 for the past 15 mins? I'm convinced this verify feature has some bugs.

Same here.
Only happened since upgrading to 0.7.10.
0.7.9 was fine for me.

Same here. It started after I updated to 0.7.10.

It took me 5-6 hours to verify a movie that's 4-5 gbs yesterday. If I manually run quick par its done in minutes

I've renamed the 0.7.10 folder and reinstalled 0.7.9.

Verifying is now moving through very quickly and the par2.exe process is using less than 5% CPU.
On 0.7.10 the par2.exe process was using between 50 and 60% CPU and verifying wasn't progressing past the first file of a download.

Are you testing with the same NZBs?
The exact same par2 programs are in both releases.
For straightforward NZBs there are no differences in the way 0.7.9 and 0.7.10 run the par2 program.

If the same NZB gives different results in 0.7.9 and 0.7.10, can you email that NZB?

It was the same queue that was previously stuck.
I shut down SAB, renamed the installation folder. Ran the installer for 0.7.9 and then started SAB back up again.
SAB picked up the previously downloaded queue and processed immediately. What had previously been verifying for the last 12 hrs completed in less than 5 mins and then processed the rest of the downloaded queue in a similar time.

This isn't just the same NZB file that's giving a problem, it's every NZB file. Before re-installing 0.7.9 I had been manually killing SAB after each download and emptying the queue and then unpacking manually before finally deleting the queue file to fully remove it from SAB.

0.7.9 is working perfectly, do I've disabled the update check and will stay on this release for the time being.

did the same as noted above as I was having the same issues with Windows 7 (x86). It worked and continued where 7.10 was stuck Do not recommend to upgrade to 7.10

I asked for a sample NZB file that shows this behaviour.
Unless there's something wrong with your system, it's very unlikely that this happens with all NZB files.
That's why I need samples.

Which OS are you using? Which Usenet provider?
This one doesn't even need repairing when I download it.

I am having this issue for the first time with SABnzbd Version: 0.7.16. I downloaded a 49 gb file and it has just been going for the past 2 hours. I am using win7 and my usenet provider is usenetserver.com if that helps.

Substantial repairs on huge downloads can take an enormous amount of time.
Does the system appear to be busy with disk access and CPU load?
