Having issues getting SABnzbd to connect to my newsgroup provider.
I changed my router setup to be a new modem/router, into a homeplug, then into another router which connects to my nasbox (sabnzbd)
I've done the usual and opened up port 563 for my news provider. I suspect the issue is something between the two routers.
I get the following error when I click test in servers 'Invalid server address'
The server details are definitely correct though.
Anyone have any ideas?

Re: Issues with new router setup
This means that somehow DNS isn't working on your systems.
Do "ping" commands to that same address work?

Re: Issues with new router setup
Yes I can ping the nas box ip from both routers.
I'm a little confused how to set up the port forwarding if one router is connected to another and then to the nas box. I assume just forwarding the newsgroups port to the nas boxes ip is enough. I've set this up on both routers but I think suspect it just needs doing on the first.
I can get more specific with devices etc if it helps.

Re: Issues with new router setup
Port-forwarding serves no purpose for Usenet ports, they do not have incoming calls.
Port-forwarding is only needed when you want to expose SABnzbd's web UI to internet (not recommended).

Re: Issues with new router setup
Ah ok, well that's good to know. Could you elaborate a but more about what you mean with dns issues then? Or perhaps point me to somewhere I can read up on it more.
Thanks
Thanks
Re: Issues with new router setup
To add more context, I have dhcp disabled on my 2nd router and I've put the 2nd routers static ip outside the range of the first. I've assigned a static ip to the nasbox which falls within the first routers ip range. I can access this ip and sabnzbd from each router and can ping from both.
The newsgroup provider details haven't changed from when it worked on a single router and I've checked the details + tried another port.

Re: Issues with new router setup
In complicated network setups, there is no generic advise.
If you cannot solve the DNS issue, you could use the numerical IP address of the Usenet server instead.

Re: Issues with new router setup
Interestingly i'm unable to save new server parameters, perhaps because it tests the connection upon saving.
I've tried ping the domain for astraweb and using the returned ip address in my server setup and that doesn't work either.
I'll keep investigating what my problem might be.
Thanks

Edit, ok IP address works now...... restarted and changed some other things. No idea what fixed that. I'll read up more on what the dns issue might be. Don't really understand about how other domains can resolve ok and this one wouldnt?
-------
Final edit.
Fixed, something to do with the settings below on my nasbox, which I normally manually set so that I can go to the same IP address for the nasbox. Instead i've set a static IP on the router, which should allow me to do the same thing and obtain all the details below from the dhcp server.

Thanks for the help and apologies for generally having no idea what i'm doing!
