Lots of failed repairs recently

Post by shedrock »

In the last week or so I've noticed a significant amount of nzb failures because of not enough repair blocks etc. The funny thing is that if I go back and manually grab the same release, it works and no repair message or anything like that. It downloads, unpacks and my 3rd part app sorts and moves it. Any idea what could be happening here?

Thanks

The same release? You mean the same NZB?
If not, isn't your indexer delivering incomplete NZBs?

Yes, the same NZB file. It just happened with: Upper.Middle.Bogan.S01E06.Behind.You.PDTV.x264-BWB. This one failed at 10:00am approx. and then I tried immediately after and it worked when I grabbed it manually. This also happened with 4 other tv show episodes last night, yesterday and the day before.

It looks like your Usenet provider is slower than your indexer.
Are there very young posts?

Well, I use NzbDrone to grab my episodes and it does an RSS scan every 15 minutes and this has always worked for for over a year now without any issues. It is also the same 2 indexers that I use as well. The posts are usually between 15-30 mins. when they get grabbed.

I'd say, hold up your queue for an hour or so and then start downloading.
What I described can really happen.

Sorry for the late response upmg. I never got an email regarding your post. Anyway, I am with usenetserver.com, but recently I think they are an issue.

it only took you 4 minutes to reply anyway lol but thanks for getting back to me.

Weird because I am experiencing the same issue, download the same nzb from the same indexer that it initially grabs and it works fine a little later on.

Maybe my the EU servers are slower on Supernews in my case.

I just sent them an email because this is ridiculous now. I just downloaded Trollied, Upper Middle Bogan and Peaky Blinders and everyone failed. I don't care if they fail because I can always go back and manually and grab it, but the problem is that my 3rd party app does not go back and download a failed episode so it is a bit of an inconvenience when I get home from work and see all these failed uploads.

Maybe someone can recommended a better provider?
