Hi people
I was wondering if anybody else experience a massive slowdown since installimg mavericks on their mac??
Until now everything worked flawless but since my upgrade to mavericks the post-processing needs forever...
The download speed seems still fine, even if i notice some massive drop downs in speed for 1-2 minutes...
But mor importantly, as soon as the download is finished, instead of going into post processing straight away like he always did, he needs a huge amount of time to start the verifying phase and the unpacking is horribly long...
Somebody maybe can help me?
Thank you guys

Could be that unrar misbehaves on Mavericks.
We'll soon test Mavericks and possibly upgrade to the latest release of unrar.

I've seen one more complaint.
Not a real surprise given Apple's reputation for breaking backward compatibility...

This seems to be a network I/O issue with unrar and 10.9... I grabbed the latest unrar (currently unrarsrc-5.0.12.tar.gz), and built with clang++. For a 1.5GB rarset extracting locally took 2min, extracting to network share took 20min.
(Edit: should add for comparison, cp'ing the rarset directly to the same share took 1min).

Re: 10.9 Mavericks: post-processing needs forever
unrarring over a network has always been a challenge, on any platform.
It "only" has become worse with Mavericks.
I'll look into the option of unpacking locally first. Sad that it is needed.

Re: 10.9 Mavericks: post-processing needs forever
I noticed that the download process itself is a lot slower also on os x 10.9!
It downloads at normal speed, but the download speed drops dramatically toward 0 as soon as i work on something else on the computer...which it didn't before...
Damn mavericks:-(

Re: 10.9 Mavericks: post-processing needs forever
Good to know I'm not the only one. I've been having issues with 10.9 being slower than expected compare to 10.8.
I'm hopeful the coming 10.9.1 will alleviate the issue, rather than having to revert to 10.8.x
